Edit single instance of a recurring event
There appears to be no way to edit a single instance of a recurring event. So if the 2nd item needs to be shifted by 15 minutes or location changes, that change will affect entire series. Please add the ability to edit either a single event... or the entire series.
As of March 2024, this feature is available on the web. Coming soon to other apps.

This is a critical calendaring feature that - without having - will unfortunately make it so I have to move away from Proton if it's not added soon. :-( I couldn't find another issue and whether this includes the ability to respond differently to a series, but it seems like when I can't make one instance of a recurring meeting, I have to decline all of them. The inability to modify a single entry in a calendar series that has other attendees is a dealbreaker.

For the love of all that is right in the world, PLEASE fix this. I have lots of shared family events for 6 people and changing one instance of it isn't possible. So ... very ... painful.

"Update recurring event

Would you like to update all events in this series?
Previous modifications on this series will be lost."This is annoying when wanting to move an event to another calendar.

Please fix this @Proton-Team! We really need recurring events with attendees to be modifyable! It has caused so much confusion already - it frequently happens that we have to move one instance of a recurring series to another day, but right now, we cannot delete or move a single instance - instead, we have to send out another invite and keep the instance cluttering up our calendars.

This feature is a time-save and avoids creating separate entries with unique updates.

I completely agree Sean. As a Product Manager, I find it surprising this feature is not available, especially when Proton has as a Business option which I use. Having to delete all recurring events with a client and then send out an new event does not look cood and has caused confusion with my clients.
Come on proton... this one needs to be doen quickly :) -

It is possible to edit/delete a single occurrence, but only for non-shared series. For shared series, the problem is still present.

As far as I could test on the web and Android versions of Proton Calendar this is already implemented: I can edit (name, hour, location) a single occurence of a series with or without impacting the rest of the series.
Like in Google Calendar, a prompt appear asking you to choose to apply to single occurence, this event and next ones, or all the series -

This is critical! Not being able to cancel a single event of a series make the point of a series unusable

This is actually an interesting requirement and could be implemented by allowing to delete all occurrences of an even within a given time frame. It would also be nice to be able to just mark/select multiple events in the calendar view and then just delete those.

I'd like to delete a recurring event whilst away on a business trip/holiday, however, would like the recurring event to resume after x days away.
Currently, the two ways of doing this is to either 'Delete this event' for each consecutive day for x days (very frustrating when you have multiple recurring events) or to 'Delete this and following events', then re-create the recurring event from the day I want my schedule to resume (again, very long when you have multiple recurring events).
The 'Delete this and following events' feature has been a great help for historical reference purposes so far, so thank you.

This is VERY basic and i was surprised to see that it was not implemented (I just thought I had missed it). Please fix this if you're serious about having a calendar!

Yes, this is an important feature for my organization. I frequently wish we had it.

Is it really still in a backlog and not in development?! I just started to moving my team events to Proton and now it seams the most basic features are missing.

It's what's keeping me from using Proton Calendar. It is amazing that this has not been implemented yet. Seriously what's the issue ? at least add an option to break a series to 2 or more series, that would help a lot

It is beyond moderately absurd that this has been added as a known limitation of Proton Calendar under the Proton Calendar FAQ, instead of just developing the feature. We're coming up on 2 years in May since this was first posted, and still have no timeline on this, which should be CORE functionality of a calendar platform. Proton, do better. :-|

Not something I've had to do until today but disappointed I can't do it. I use recurring events to organise my family and some weeks, something gets cancelled. Recurring events need some flexibility.
