Proton user here for several years, Family Plan for a year.
This is the most requested feature in the family.

The few of them that use iOS refrain from using the calendar app just for that, and I had to create a calendar link from an external provider on every phone to sync their activities for everyone.

The web view/editing existing is cool, but no one wants to connect to the website everytime they need to add an event.

Please, add that.

This is a use or abandon feature. Not having it will have me abandon the platform.

This feature is critical and I paid for that. It's not normal not having this feature on iOS.

I paid for Proton Duo just to learn my partner can't create event in shared calendar from their mobile app... This is a critical feature to get people to use Proton Calendar.

Any updates on this? This seems like a big miss for what is a basic functionality for a calendar app

We need to be able to create, edit and delete events on shared calendars from any device. Proton needs to implement this functionality ASAP.

The lack of this feature is keeping me from using the iPhone app as default. I'm using the progressive web app which works, but it is not ideal for me.

As everyone else said. Family would switch to Proton if calendar was usable on iOS app. But also note that for unskilled users (often the family members that aren't on board with Proton) being able to set the shared calendar as the default calendar is as important as being able to create events on it. Otherwise they will just keep creating events and not notice they are going on the wrong calendar.

I finally convinced my wife to use proton apps but we are both missing this really important feature. How can't it be possible to have a shared calender at the iOS app where both can add and edit their appointments?

Spending ~500€ for a family plan and a lot "standard" features are missing and we can not switch.
To be honest, I should have checked the available features better beforehand. But i thougt these features are SOOOO basic....
I wrote the support two times, still no answer.

Also the calendar backend is super slow. I dont know what you are querying from backend, but speed issues needs to be addressed too.

I'm really disappointed this basic feature isn't available. I spent $479 and some change for the 2 year family plan. I got my family set up on email, password manager, drive and vpn. I was working on setting up our family calendar.and to my dismay saw that you can't edit the shared calendar in the iOS app. Total bummer. Every paid proton member pays a premium to use these services so the expectation is that the basic functions and features of every app in the proton suite should work. My family will have to continue using iOS calendar for the time being.

As everyone else is saying, the lack of this cornerstone feature stops my family from fully switching over to Proton, which basically ruins the privacy argument.

This really is a critically missing feature. In fact, it is the number one barrier for full acceptance and uptake of Proton in my family. They see that Proton has great value, and all in the family use Proton Mail, Pass, Drive and VPN. But when it is about Proton Calendar I always hear "uuuh. As long as I cannot create events in our shared family calendar using my iPhone, Proton Calendar does is of no value for me. I definitely don't want to start Proton Calendar on the web on my notebook, with all log-in and 2FA fuzz it takes, just to create an event." Well, they are right. Unfortunately it seems this feature is not highly prioritized - what I understand seeing this idea has still <100 votes.

But maybe "family users" are on average not as active on platforms such as uservoice compared to users who use Proton for business. Maybe an effect you could try to analyse from the user- und usage data here on uservoice, and then apply an amplification factor for "family" related ideas to address and compensate such, and then reevaluate?

Please fix this, before the issue has its first anniversary.

We cannot fully switch to Proton ecosystem if my wife on IOS cannot edit our family planning !

We really want to use this product. We are going to try, but the fact that this feature is missing is a huge barrier. Please add this soon!!!!

Critical feature, without, it defeats the purpose of shared calendars. Why iOS users are treated differently than Android ones??
