Access the same custom domain from multiple Proton accounts
The case is simple. I'd like my wife to have a separate account in the same, custom domain registered in protonmail. You can't have it in the current setup, as multiple addresses can be setup only for one account (so they are more like aliases). Multiple accounts could count towards one storage or account number limits.
Thanks.
You can now have multiple users on the same custom domains. You can learn more here: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/paid-plans/ or https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-email-for-organizations/.

I feel a bit upset ... On different plan it is written 5 x Email address - I was thinking I could have 5 inbox for 5 people.... It will be more honnest to say 1 Inbox with 5 Alias ...
1 domain and can only have one user using email is total nonsense

I need the family plan. It doesn't make sense to pay $8 to add accounts for my children when only use email occasionally and use next to no storage.

As you can read here: https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-v3-8-release-notes/ (topmost comment) there won't be any separate accounts under a PLUS subscription. You will need to buy the future professional plans, which are ridiculously expensive:
"Professional plans will be priced at $8/month per account and you can add as many accounts as you want. So for 2 people, two professional accounts would be $16. For 3-5 users, the Visionary plan is the best deal because that is fixed at $24/month." (Admin)
That's 192$/year for two separate accounts and 288$/year for three or more separate accounts. So please back this feature request: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/18627634-multi-user-support-for-plus-subscription

We subscribed for two protonmail plus accounts assuming we could attach the same custom domain to both of them. e.g. account1@custom.com, account2@custom.com. We were disappointed to realize that currently this is only possible with the expensive visionary account. Are there plans to make it possible to use the same custom domain for two separate accounts?

I agree with most of the comments here. I would like multiple logins with under the same domain. It doesn't make sense to pay that much for sub-users. This needs to be addressed.

Same remark as many below: when I upgraded to Protonmail Plus, I was looking for a use case working for both myself and my family... I am a bit disappointed with reality.

Why "the team" does not care about questions in the topic?

I too bought a plus account for multiple email accounts (my wife and I) and was surprised it was multiple email addresses for a single mailbox. Visionary is too much for what I'm willing to pay for this service. :( I like most everything else you have done with the service, IE, super easy to setup security end to end, just too much money to add additional accounts to a single custom domain.

I agree with the other comments. I currently have the free account and was considering completely migrating myself and my wife to plus accounts. In order for that to work I would need the ability for both of us to be under the same custom domain. If this isn't an option than I can't really see myself purchasing the paid version.

I also subscribed PLUS and was waiting for this feature. Now I'm very disappointed to see only for VISIONARY. I' don't need 20GB storage, I don't need unlimited sending mail and everything but simple 2 separate PLUS accounts with the same custom domain. I paid 96 CHF and not 288. I now thinking about to change back to other mail system. :-(

Love ProtonMail and how it handles mail for our company. Would love it even more if we could set up several user accounts using the same custom domain, so that we could give our key employees email addresses with the same domain without giving them total control of the account. That way the company can retain their emails after they depart, as part of our intellectual property and as a vital record to our corporate activities.

I'm in exactly the same boat as Saber Karmous below. I paid for a ProtonMail Plus account without realising only one person can use your custom domain! I can't migrate it over since the rest of my family also use this domain! A Visionary account is just too expensive for us. I'd happily pay one or two dollars extra a month per private mailbox on this tier, but 30 is a bit steep for a non-business user like myself I'm afraid!
Please please pleeeeeeease give us Plus users the ability to use this feature too!

I'm not trying to be harsh. I really love the hard work and dedication you guys are doing. But there's a major but.
Currently I'm using gmail with a custom domain for me and my wife. Something a few other commenters also want. I'm willing to pay, and sure know that nothing is really free on the internet. But forcing users like me to pay around 300 euro's a year is "pushing it". So +100 for a Family subscription with 5 accounts for 10 euro's a month. Pretty please with sugar on top, make it happen.
Right now I can't migrate to protonmail (I already upgraded to be able to use custom domains), because then either me or my wife will not have access to e-mail.

This blog post from a month ago says that this feature is complete -- for users at the top of the pay scale.
Could we get an employee to comment here and mark this issue as complete, or update it with future work still planned?
https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-v3-7-release-notes/
If the feature is really complete then it will be up to users to decide if it's worth $300 a year to have it. I want to have secure email addresses for my wife and myself and I pay Tutanota $30 a year for that. ProtonMail is a more feature complete system but I'm not sure it is 10x better.

Is there an update on this? This would be a game-changer for me

Very disappointing that this is taking so long to deliver. Why the alck of updates?

It's been almost a year after I created this request. Nothing's happened. I'm downgrading and possibly closing an account here. You may be the most secure email provider here, but one of less responsive as well.

would love to see this soon!

I chose Tutanota over ProtonMail because of this, plus price. I'm watching for this feature to be ready then I will re-evaluate the two interfaces in greater detail.
