Monero payment option
I would love to be able to create a truly anonymous email account so I would like to be able to pay for premium accounts with Monero or Bitcoin.
We will be adding Monero as a payment option for our VPN plans by the end of Summer 2025.

That's the only way I'd support Protonmail.

Monero being faster, cheaper, and more private than Bitcoin is a better match for Proton products. Please consider adding this.

I already use your service. Why not pay in Monero.

Please support this. If it's a legality thing, how is it any different from you supposedly not holding any logs?

Hi ProtonMail team. I am a paying customer. I am tired of sending BTC and wait. Can you communicate and tell us what is your plan regarding accepting Monero payments? If it's not a priority, is it in the backlog at least?

Proton products are all about protecting users privacy but we still can't pay for these services with Monero, the only fungible coin. This makes no sense!

Following through on this feature seems more necessary than ever given recent bitcoin mempool congestion

This was two years ago! When are you going to add this valuable payment option?

Hey! Is there any update on this? I saw people talking about tx fees and privacy, both of which Monero has greatly improved since this was proposed

Has there been anything new on this? I see Bitcoin is still the only supported currency. Both Monero and Bitcoin Cash currently have tx fees of <1 cent, and would be great additions.

My apologies. I also meant to say. It is an incredible thing, digital currency, and how it has progressed. It would be nice to have the use of it for more services, it only helps the world progress to newer more effective and healthier things

Hold on.
Let me give an explanatory educational rant for a bit here. Let me explain some valuable information.
Set digital currency aside as a means for security. And focus on the anonymity part of it.
Even though your paying upfront...maybe physically with your coins. They have no proof of how you got it, where you got it from. So long as you have done the correct things with your coins. That all being said. Digital currency is trying to be revolutionized to help make things easier and more effective in our digital and technical world we live in. The issue lies between everything from small family owned mom and pop shops to massively large conglomerates, they need to play a large roll in coming on board with these things.
Digital currency will never progress as a widely used currency for whatever purpose or place, unless the 2nd and/or 3rd parties come on board.

A lot of people have commented here on Monero's transaction fees, but the comments are from January when there was a huge spike across the board. The median transaction fee for the last 100 Monero transactions was 24 cents. That's compared to $3.54 for Bitcoin, which is already accepted, and isn't anonymous. Monero is a no-brainer.

This would be incredible, please add support for Monero, I would kill a rabbit for this and I'm a vegetarian and those things are cute.
