I am generally for this, although I differ on some particulars.
I had some financial and legal challenges when Visionary was last offered, and unfortunately missed out. The opportunity to 'go all in' on Proton's mission in some way other than a big-budget fundraiser would be exciting and enticing to me.

I keep hearing pleas like this, so I think Proton Mail has to take the following seriously.

1. The current Family plan is too "small" to cover the needs of families with more than six members, so I would like to suggest for it to be discontinued, and for its subscribers to be migrated to a new Visionary plan (not to be confused with current Visionary plan).

2. Create a new Visionary plan that would retain all existing features of the existing Visionary plan (except for the promise of first or priority access to future features releases) and access to tools to add more than six members into their subscription with an additional cost (for example €2.00 for each additional member that goes beyond six ie. seventh member onwards).

3. The new Visionary plan should be similar in price to the current Family plan, because many Family plan subscribers have already expressed concerns about the pricing of the plan, and this is an indicator that points to them being unable to feel the value for what they are paying for.

4. Introduce a new Progenitor plan for current Visionary plan subsribers to migrate to, to honor them for their loyalty, for it is their support that makes Proton Mail what it is today. My proposal for the new Progenitor plan is for it offer the same features of the existing Visionary plan along with tools to add more than six family members into the same subscription (without additional cost, unless they are to go over ten family membes ie. eleventh member onwards will be charged at €2.00 per member), and for their base Proton Drive shareable storage limit to be increased to 10 TB.

The main goal for my proposal is to address the concerns of Family plan subscribers who are yearning for the possibility to add more than six family members into their subscribed plan, and at the same time, to enhance the value of what current Visionary plan subscribers get from being loyal to Proton Mail since day one with an ultra exclusive Progenitor plan.

There should be an option to add more family members and you pay a certain amount more 1Password already does this and this is why I we can’t move over to proton from other services like 1Password.

Support told me to try a business plan but when you try to configure that for 7 people and with the same features as the proton family plan has then it just gets way to expensive.

I would love to use protonmail too, but my family also has more than 6 members, and with a custom domain, I can only move all of them.

I agree. I have 5 kids, wife, brother, sister-in-law, 2 nieces, and two grand parents. My family name is the domain. I was lucky enough to go to Networking classes in the 90s. I would love to have 8-13 family members. I would like the privacy.

Agree with most of this. I do realise you also need to circumvent small business' from trying to take advantage of this but in my example I administer a custom domain for my partner and two kids and well as family members with our surname (which is also the domain). I feel like 10 should be included within the finite storage allocation give. Anything beyond can come with a additional seat cost.

Not all of the additional seats need the whole suite of features either, just the mailbox ability. £2 an extra seat with 1GB mailbox addition would be great!
