Allow purchasing subscriptions as a gift
I want to be able to gift ProtonMail subscriptions to my family members, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do this currently.

Offering the ability to purchase subscription plans as gifts would be a valuable feature, especially for users who want to share premium services like Proton Mail with family and friends without requiring them to handle the payment themselves. A gifting option could simplify onboarding, make special occasions more meaningful, and help expand the user base through personal recommendations. Many digital services already support gift subscriptions because they provide flexibility and convenience for both the giver and the recipient. It’s similar to how personalized gifts create https://cadeaux-magique.com/collections/cadeaux-personnalises/ a stronger emotional connection—whether it’s a premium subscription or a unique custom present from , the idea of giving something thoughtful and tailored always adds extra value.

Hello,
You can do this with Proton Gift Cards from the Proton Shop.
Go to shop.proton.me to buy.Add the gift card to the cart. Once purchased, you will see your upgrade code(s) on the order confirmation page (wait a couple of seconds for this to load your codes)
Please note that the upgrade code is NOT added in the .pdf template you can download, which is at https://drive.proton.me/urls/2Q48H2BZ44#cnaPhtwcy9eW
📫 You will also receive an email from shop@orders.protonmail.com that includes permanent access to this page, in case you've closed it. You can then edit the pdf with the upgrade code and send it to the family member via email or alternative distribution.
Thank you.

You could try doing that with "Proton Gift Cards" from the Proton Shop, not sure if that would work the same way.

I'm surprised the advertising department overlooked an angle of this significance.
It's surely a Subscription Option people would welcome, unlike the current marketing strategy that seems focused on one thing-
UPGRADE TO A MORE Expensive Plan, whether you need it or not.(In the Advertising dept. break area, they need to switch out the Coffee to Decaf, and not tell anyone)
