How can we improve Proton?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Security model parity between web and mobile

    When I log in to Proton Mail on my mobile I'm logged in only in Proton Mail app. When I log in to Proton Drive app — same story. I can be logged in to one, the orther or both, but even then have secured Drive app additionally with PIN/biometrics. This is awesome, because if my unlocked device falls into the wrong hands somehow then the person wouldn't have access to all my files I store in Proton Drive as it would be either locked or logged out. This is important to me personally because I have a chronic illness…

  2. Partner With Duck Duck Go, Quad 9 DNS and Make Powerful Privacy Union.

    Duck Duck Go , Quad 9 DnS and Proton all of these companies are all about users privacy.

    It would be great to have these three companies working together. Duck Duck Go Handles the Browser, Proton handles the mail , Quad 9 handles the DNS.

    I know there VPN which is good. But I don’t think Proton has a DNS yet. Partner up with Quad 9 , and Proton doesnt have broswer, partner up with Duck Duck Go.

    Make one powerful privacy product with all three companies.

    Thats just a dream for me. I hope this dream actually happens.

  4. I WANT TO PRESS A BUTTON AT THE EMAIL: -MARK AS SPAM AND PERMA DELETE. I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO GO TO SPAM FOLDER TO DELETE IT TWICE.

  7. Personally I would like to enable a function where you can view attachments in protonmail before sending the mail

    Personally I would like to have a function where you can view attachments in protonmail before sending the mail, this of cause to ensure you have attached the correct file, photo or document to your mail. As it is today I have not found a function where this is possible.
    Just a thought I think many users would appreciate. Regards

  9. Archiving in protonmail.com should automatically open the next message

    Currently, if you are archiving a message (via button or shortcut) then the "read panes" (opened email) is left blank and you need to manually click on the next email. It would make sense for the application to automatically select the next message in the current folder. This would allow one to quickly archive a bunch of messages by pressing A repeatedly.

    I know that you can remedy this somewhat by using keyboard to move to the next message and open it, and archive but it makes very little logical sense to not automatically open the next message.

  10. Proton Git

    I store a lot of code on git, and it would be great if there was a privacy focused git, that didn't use my code to train AI (looking at you Github). Selfhosting is not a option for me as I need to have a reliable option for work.

  11. Hide folders, selectively, when they contain no messages

    There are some folders that are really used to group/place messages for a short period of time — hence, their nature aren't quite static as the rest.

    I think it would be great to have a way to hide them, as long as they contain no messages. Candidates for this category are Spam, Drafts, and Archive — but users do create their own, so it's really hard to tell.

    Regardless, this should help to unclutter the interface in case there are too many folders.

  17. Enable contributing to appications' frontend sourcecode in a simple, straight-forward and transparent way.

    As a long-time user of Protons services, Despite these services being great on its own, what I noticed throughout the general opinion, when comparing these to Gmail or Apple is the concession that is given to Proton in terms of features to the great idea of the privacy. I do not buy it, I want it all, and I want it now.

    What do I pay for? I am not an evangelist of privacy if for that privacy I have to sacrifice for my comfort, not because I am superficial, but because I know that both are possible.

    Like many others, I've been using a private Discord server to host images to post around the web, but by the end of the year, that is no longer going to be possible. I've been looking around for a way to host my images to post online, but I'm worried that the hosting sites I'm finding online are going to harvest data or train AI on my files.   20. dematerialisation

    Hello,

    I've been using proton unlimited for a while now and i love it.
    There's one thing that i still need to use another program for which is 'digipost' a dématérialisation application. It can login to my accounts from other companies to download and stock phone bills, rent bills, salary slips and even tax documents automaticaly.
    Proton drive can stock securely but it would be great to have a functionality that downloads all the bills automatically into proton drive in a structured way.
