5. Better signatures

   The current signature feature in Proton Mail is insufficient for business applications.

   In addition to long requested features such as support for multiple signatures, or being able to switch between HTML and Plain signatures on different platforms, other features such as, but not limited to, the following would make Proton Mail a realistic option for larger businesses:

   • reply signature option (to avoid spamming a big signature block for every single reply in a thread),
   • authenticating signatures (signatures with some kind of validation token; unclear on how to implement),
   • a signature catalogue (browse multiple signatures and set for which address they apply as default for regular messages and which ones apply for replies), or
   • a signature composing tool (mostly for HTML signatures, would be nice if selectable [and modifiable] blocs were offered which include things like privacy notice language, unsubscribing instructions, holiday notice, etc.; this could be a business account feature exclusive)

6. Email notifications for specific senders

   I like receiving notifications on my phone for new emails but wish I could select WHICH senders activate notifications, leaving them off for everyone else. That is very important to me so I don't miss client e-mails.

9. Run Immich server on proton drive, instead of the custom and very rudimentary photos feature we have now

   Hi,
   the new photos feature is a nice direction, but a far cry from all the competitors.
   So why not use an feature rich open source software like Immich, let it run on the Proton Drive storage and don't spend resources reinventing the wheel.
   This would be a smart move!
   Photos integration in drive is too basic and will take years to rival Google Photos etc, if at all.

11. Mobile Apps: Do not prompt for FIDO2 pin (be consistent with website)

    I don't know about the Android apps, but on iOS, the dialogue prompts for the pin when using a security key.

    This is not the case on the website, and in my opinion, requesting the pin only makes sense when the key is the only factor, in Proton's case, the user's password is already required.

12. Quad9 Private Relay

    Apple's Private Relay is a cool and effective setup. It made me think about a system-wide alternative, hence the title. It could almost be a service in its own right, seperate from Proton VPN but included in the vpn interface for Plus/Ultimate subscribers. You could also build on top of that partnership for a tor alternative and bring Mullvad in as the middle node (vice-versa for users already using mullvad vpn). All three could have dedicated optimized servers for the service. "Mullton9" ? Lol. "Provad9" sounds too much like an ED med. Use-case would be someone who just wants privacy and speed. They would use original VPN app/service for all other uses (tor, p2p, different country, etc)

    Make it a paid service. For proton users they have "Proton9" private relay and "Mullton9" tor alternative (mullvad is middle node). For mullvad users they have "Mullvad9" private relay and "Mullton9" tor alternative (proton is middle node). Quad9 is the egress server for all options. Would provide another income stream for all 3 and probably be pretty popular!

    Product Concept Proton Zero‑Trust Gateway

    Vision

    Proton already protects outbound traffic through its VPN, giving users privacy and security when they connect to the internet. The next logical step is to give them the same level of confidence for inbound connections—letting them expose services (websites, APIs, SSH, RDP, IoT endpoints, etc.) without ever having to open ports or configure complex NAT rules. A “Zero‑Trust Gateway” would sit at the edge of a user’s network, authenticate every request, enforce fine‑grained policies, and only forward traffic that meets those policies to the private host.

    Core Pillars

    • Identity‑First Access – Every inbound request must present a verifiable identity before any traffic reaches the user’s device. Integration with existing Proton accounts (including Proton Pass for MFA, Proton ID for SSO, and optional third‑party IdPs) ensures that only authorized users can connect. The gateway can also support short‑lived access tokens, QR‑code scans, or email‑based approvals for ad‑hoc sharing.

    • Encrypted Tunnel‑to‑Tunnel – Once a request is authenticated, the gateway establishes an end‑to‑end encrypted tunnel directly to the user’s Proton VPN client. From the perspective of the public internet, the service appears to be hosted behind Proton’s globally distributed edge nodes, while the actual payload travels over the same privacy‑preserving infrastructure used for outbound VPN traffic.

    Honestly, just copy everything Google does with their contacts, calendar, notes, tasks, etc. It's super frustrating that their suite of applications is as excellent as it is for such an evil company.

16. Proton Pass: Bad credentials autofill

    Proton Pass often fails to present relevant login entry results when selecting credentials to populate individual login form fields.

    Specifically, Proton Pass search results fails to include entries that were accessed moments ago.

    For example, the current browser page should automatically trigger corresponding login entries for that domain. But they often don't. So you have to manually search for the right login entry. This happens with mobile browsers.

    For example, you can select a login item for the username field. But then the login entry fails to appear in the recent list when populating the password field.

    There's a very awkward interaction between mobile keyboard accessories and credential autofill. On iPadOS, an official Apple mobile physical keyboard causes the autofill UI to be hidden. So the much worse long press Autofill UI workflow is often needed instead. Or to physically disconnect the keyboard every single time I autofill and login to any services. Never have those problems with iPhone. Any vendor bugs (Apple, Chromium, etc.) should be resolved by double checking API documentation and coordinating with upstream engineers.

    Finally, recently accessed entries that do appear, show up at the very bottom of the recent result list, rather than the top.
