I doesn’t able to sync AOL Email Regularly from my Android Phone (Mobile). IT shows the sign of syncing but, nothing help me. If i have to see how many Email i got most of the time then, i have to login on Web or mobile web browser. I having very bad time in getting new Emails. Please help me. I think, there is problem in AOL Application and Android phone.

As a professional account user thinking about getting my family on the service, I am very disappointed that there is no option to at least poll for new emails every X minutes.
I have LineageOS on my phone, and therefore have NO way of knowing when I have new mail unless I manually check. Ridiculous.

Another paid ProtonMail subscriber here. Very interested in this feature.

please make the source code for the notification system free and open source for other developers to use in their apps. this will allow protonmail and other free opensource degoogled android apps to have working notifications.

Paying long time user bumping this issue again, there are a number of open source apps that have solved this issue and removed their independence of Google services (Signal, Fairemail, Tutanota etc.).

Unbelievable Protonmail still not providing a solution for this after so many years, I think after my premium is over I'll move to Tutanota.

"Currently" is not a valid response. Re-open this, provide the feature, or state that it will never happen. Stating that it is currently not an option does not merit a "Completed" tag. Other privacy respecting applications(1) allow for GCS-free notifications, WHY(would also be a valid response) can't Protonmail?

(1): Riot comes to mind, as does Nextcloud, Feeder, DAVx, AndStatus... All of these are open source too, get some code ideas from them, and implement that.

Would love to see this also. Tutanota has notifications working without Google, PM needs to do the same. I really don't want to switch email for such a simple feature as having working notifications for those of us that really choose privacy by refusing google services. For now, I have to leave my home computer on all the time to receive emails in a desktop client that then forwards all my emails to Tutanota so that I get notifications on my phone! But PM is my main email, only using Tuta for this purpose. Could happily turn off my computer and delete Tuta if this was fixed.
