Please don't re-invent the wheel. Excellent alternatives "without the tracking" already exist, including Brave and Firefox. This would be a waste of Proton's resources.

Hi, I use DuckDuckGo, Start Page, and Mozilla Firefox Browser. An extreme, but I also use two (2) Independent Cell Phones (Iphone 6+ and new Samsung Galaxy Note 9). I trust the Iphone. I do not trust Android / Google / Gmail / Chrome, etc. My Iphone has contact info, emails (Protonmail, msn exchange and Icloud), and other private info only on that phone.

The Galaxy Note 9 has NO email except for small forced Gmail, with less than 10 contacts, with only initials for contacts. Otherwise detailed info hand written in a paper Composition Book. Location turned off, but that is meaningless to Android. No transfer to Cloud(s), either cell phone.

Also NO transfer of old phone data to new Galaxy Note 9, except by USB cable direct from PC.

In short I consider Android / Google / Gmail = Spyware. Caution and Best practices on what is stored on those Phones and Clouds.

Please don't make a browser. We have firefox and tor!

I agree with Mar's recent comment. I've recently started using the DuckDuckGo search engine plugin with Mozilla FireFox and it works very nicely. (By the way, I've recenty learned that Mozilla Firefox allows you to create an account, so it synchs my bookmarks between my ios phone & my laptop, which is handy).

I think DuckDuckGo also has a plugin for Safari, but Safari has some compatibility issues with ProtonMail in some respects (can't remember what, but I saw it on this site somewhere - so Mozilla Firefox seems a safer bet; maybe it was the private browsing mode of Safari that was the problem - if so then DuckDuckGo with Mozilla actually gives you even more privacy than that). Hope this helps!

Firefox already does a good job avoiding tracking, and you can easily add plugins like "Privacy Badger" or "DuckDuckGo" to improve it.

Please DO NOT make a Browser. We have Tor Browser for our privacy concerned users. Focus on a great e-mail service.

Water Fox is a older version of Fire fox with Mozilla back door out.

I use epic they claim they are the best, but I have found not. I have tested my browsers so I know many great ideas that could be imputed to make a better browser, if I had the Programming skills many things would be different in the Computer world, it would make the net better and more secure for all.

When Proton Browser will be able to test it.

Firefox, for sure, would be the current best option here. I don't want the Proton team to take the *immense work required* to build a whole browser, when Firefox (when set up properly) is already very, very secure, and fast.

just use tor or icecat(If tor is too slow) because they're decentralized so nobody can buy it (or threaten to arrest everyone for not disclosing info). Keep in mind your isp can see you're using protonmail, so can google fiber. And phones, operating systems, and computers made by microsoft, amazon, google, or apple also will most likely keylog your information. Be careful of third party software as they could also track (or conveniently let amazon store and steal all your info [[brave browser]]) you.

I use iridium. it chrome base, but remove google backdoor.

Seamonkey browser. Don't really need to reinvent the wheel. It used to have a secure addon that seems to be unavailable. Can't think of the name right now. It prevented lots of scripts from running, including those spies like google, twitter...

Just use firefox or a security focused version of it. I don't really see how proton's technologies would add anything to this.

What would be the difference between this and Firefox itself or even the Waterfox variant of Firefox? They dont track and have extensions that block any trackers. You dont need a browser with super secure servers because browsers only contact them when they are downloading updates. I dont understand the need for this at all. Firefox does the job with existing extension support. If you dont like Mozilla's presence use Waterfox. Easy as that.
