I believe Proton misrepresented themselves when they initially announced their "joining forces" with Standard Notes. Then on 12 December (One week ago as of today) they put this out on X.

As a paying business customer since 2018 and someone who's followed Proton's progress as well as listened to Andy Yen say time after time that Proton is a customer led company, having no shareholders to answer to. Only to then watch them offer products I'm not seeing people ask for is disheartening.

Paul, you're right. I also have the professional tier of Notesnook, and it is superior to Standard Notes.

It's hard to see what Proton users get from this joining of forces. Notesnook is the better product to me, and cheaper than SN. Join forces with them and integrate Drive, Calendar, and Lumo there. What portion of my Proton fee goes to improving SN, which I can't use other than a very limited Free version? I'm certainly not paying for SN in addtion to Proton.

Having the option to leave the directory tree visible while editing a proton doc could go a long way towards a notes app. The UX associated with having to open a document in a new tab, in many ways, limits proton doc usage to longer-form documents. Having the directory tree available next to an editable document couple diwht current proton doc functionality, gives the usability for the current drive/docs apps a huge leap forward toward a notes app with only limited dev effort.

I'd really like to see a notes app w/ sync to desktop platforms within the Proton suite. Please bring this to reality Proton Development Team! :)

Standard notes is expensive and a stale product IMO. Proton’s own notes app coming out of the proton dev team would likely be a far superior product.

Proton and Standard Notes may have joined forces nearly 1.5 year ago, yet we are not closer to Proton Notes :(

Proton should provide premium access to Standard Notes for Unlimited subscribers.

If you guys had anything any clue what is going on on your smartphone the things you can't see with your keyboard and your AI assistance.. you would be way more worried about device storage isolation encryption these things....

A separate app altogether for notes and reminders. This is one area of my digital life that would benefit from Protons security and privacy. A perfect example is Awesome note 2 which hasn't been supported for six years yet still beats everything else available, it's the only thing missing from your suite of apps.

Your response does not seem to be resolving this thread, since there is still no solution to the suggestion of "Proton Notes".
As others mentioned, it's been well over a year since that announcement, without any further updates or plans in the roadmaps.
If it's because Standard Notes grossly overpriced and want to keep doing that way, then forget it and come up with a new plan - all that is needed is a tool for making secure notes that can be stored in Proton Drive.

Just wondering if there’s any news about Standard Notes lately?
Ever since they teamed up with Proton, things seem to have stayed more or less the same.

Standard Notes is still doing its own thing, and you still need a separate subscription for the extra features. It doesn’t look like it’s been integrated into the Proton ecosystem just yet.

I am New in Proton.
I expected to find something like Task list, rather than creating entries in the agenda for the tasks to be performed.

Apple has removed E2EE from iCloud in the UK rather than implement a backdoor for the Investigative Powers Act (a.k.a. the snoopers' charter). A separate Proton Notes app or forging links with existing apps to enable sync through Proton Pass / Drive would plug this privacy hole.

Still waiting for this after almost a year of the official announcement. 😒
