App Tracking Prevention
DuckDuckGo has this great feature where it essentially runs a VPN but it blocks traffic from devices from being sent out. So, when a data tracking engines (e.g., Google, Adobe, Amplitude, Branch Metrics) attempt to send personal data from your device DuckDuckGo blocks it.
If Proton incorporated the same concept into the VPN then it would be an even more effective product!

I use Duck Duck Go for search occasionally, but 99% for its app tracking protection. It would be great to add this feature to Proton VPN as any use of Proton VPN disables the Duck Duck Go feature. There is no privacy if your device is heavily fingerprinted through app tracking!

I trust proton, and duck, for different things. I use proton for encryption, and duck for stripping away tracking information. Like the comment says, I need to be able to do both. If proton could incorporate app tracking protection as part of the VPN service, big win.

Duck Duck Go provides an app that allows for app tracking protection on Android. It stops apps and tracking engines on your phone from sending personal data. It also tracks what apps and info is attempting to be sent. The problem is, it runs as a VPN, and Android cant run 2 VPNs.
If this was incorporated into Proton VPN it would be a massive leap forward for internal and external tracking protection. If you had it for Windows and IOS it would also be incredible.

Build this, or figure out how we can use Duck Duck Go and Proton VPN simultaneously on anrdroid. Might as well do it for windows and IOS next. Next level!

So, when data tracking engines and apps(e.g., Google, Adobe, Amplitude, Branch Metrics, or any app) attempt to send personal data from your device, DuckDuckGo blocks it. It also tells you what apps are trying to send info, and to who. Imagine the internal protection coupled with the Vpn external protection this would provide. Unfortunately Duck Duck Go product works as a VPN on phone, and you cant run 2 Vpns simultaneously. If Proton incorporated the same concept into the VPN then it would be the most effective VPN privacy product on the market!

Would this not be what we all would want from our VPN? Next level service. The ability to stop outside trackers and internal ones simultaneously. Seems like a no brainer, and a major privacy protection selling point.

The DuckDuckGo browser on android has an App Tracking Protection feature that would be an amazing feature in Proton VPN. You cannot use the DDG App tracking protection because android thinks it is a VPN, which means you would have to turn off your proton VPN (which I don't want to do). So if this was included in Proton, I think it would contribute greatly to privacy. My understanding is the tracker blocker in Proton VPN only applies to websites, but I would like it to also block apps on my phone from communicating with eachother, like google.

It would be nice to make all app tracking visible just like DuckDuckGo because that's made me upgrade to Proton Unlimited (Netshield) With making this visible, it would be easier for the user to delete certain apps which trying to scrape as much data as possible
