FIDO2 authentication is exceptionally critical and by far the biggest thing Proton needs to prioritize on ALL platforms, and I'm honestly surprised they don't already have it. It's almost tragic to not be able to use the best part of my Yubikeys for something like Proton, especially with the advent of Pass. It's bad enough that most financial institutions and some major tech companies aren't employing it. I think Proton adopting it would help set the standard and be a major advertising point for them.

All Proton mobile apps now support FIDO2 for 2FA: https://proton.me/support/2fa-security-key
We'll be adding the option to disable authenticator app very soon.

There's a misconception here that Proton supports FIDO2 and they do not. The terminology is being inaccurately used. They only support FIDO U2F. Thus far, unlike Apple, Google and Microsoft, they have yet to support genuine, passwordless FIDO2 authentication with security keys, which is the most secure authentication form ahead of FIDO U2F.

I just mean in terms of the aesthetic design, where Pass has item icons to the left - in the case of TOTP items, it's a lock - it would be replaced with the site icon if redesigned in the style of Pass.

It would be great if this could be pulled off without having to disable VPN.

A browser uncontrolled by big tech without the endless privacy violations is needed now more than ever. Proton is a perfect candidate to provide a browser that can address the endless tracking and ad issues properly. Not to mention the opportunity to integrate their other services into it.
Firefox is no longer trustworthy with their new terms and overall shift against privacy. There's little else left for options.

A bit disappointing every other platform has had this for some time but not Linux. Linux users understand more about the actual need for security and privacy, hence the reason they're using it. Linux needs to stop being treated like the redheaded step child when it comes to getting in on the same benefits and I would expect a release for platform support to be close together for all platforms, yet others have had it for some time.

Not just passwordless FIDO2, but an absolute no-credential login flow. No password, no username. Just the security key, eliminating any credentials or identifiers. Perhaps the option to eliminate the account password altogether if the user has two security keys registered. Thus far I've seen only Microsoft implement this at their login. Not even Apple or Google have, but I would dearly love to see Proton do it.
