Google Tasks is very useful for managing shopping lists, vehicle maintenance dates, and many other things. It's the only Google feature I use that doesn't have an alternative at PROTON. And it doesn't seem very complicated to do.

Todoist is a very popular app for business and private. It would be highly recommended to include a function like Todoist into the Proton ecosystem. Same applies to Google Keep/Notes. We need a Proton notes app. Quick ideas and notes should be safe from spying.

This is a great idea.
I think a lot of Proton lovers and users would use Proton Calendar a lot more if there were some way to create and complete tasks built into Proton (or as a new app that is part of the Proton family but integrates with Calendar and Drive).
Additionally, this is a very great idea because as of right now, there is no way to connect an email from Proton Mail to an event in Calendar. Nor is there a good way to connect a Proton Drive file to an event in Calendar (you can use the description to copy and paste a link but it's kind of clunky).
With some kind of ToDo list app that is built into the Proton universe, you could fix all of those problems in one fell swoop. Connect an email right to a task that you schedule on the calendar to complete. And connect the file from Proton Drive right to the task so you have everything you need in that task (or event) in Proton Calendar.

A To-Do List in Proton Mail. Simple. Secure. Smart.
Most task apps track you. Proton Mail wouldn’t. A built-in list keeps tasks where they belong—safe and encrypted.
It makes sense. Link tasks to emails. Set reminders. Track follow-ups. No more jumping between apps. No more copy-pasting. Just a clean, secure workflow.
Notes, deadlines, and plans—end-to-end encrypted. Like the rest of Proton Mail. Privacy where it matters.
And one less app means less clutter, more focus. Everything in one place.
If it synced across devices, like Proton Mail does, that would be perfect. No fuss. No leaks. Just secure task management.
Is this on the roadmap? Would love to hear from the team.

Yeah would love to see this too. An app that is connected to 'flagged' emails with tasks is just really helpful. Microsoft's Todo app is indeed a great example of how this could work I really like that flow.
a checklist in standard notes like someone proposed below is not quite doing it.

There are 2 toDo list (checklist) plugins for Standard Notes.
https://github.com/standardnotes/pluginsA simple one: https://standardnotes.github.io/plugins/cdn/dist/entries/org.standardnotes.simple-task-editor.json
Advanced: https://standardnotes.github.io/plugins/cdn/dist/entries/com.sncommunity.advanced-checklist.json
I'm using the advanced one because it allows me to have different ToDo lists on the same page.

At the moment I am using the reminder app on my iphone. It woud be great if there was a simple reminder Proton app so that I would be less dependend on icloud.

Having a simple to-do feature in Proton Mail would be a tremendous improvement and is a feature I would love to have available. I use tools like ClickUp for task and project management, but I don't need as heavy a tool for personal things. I'd especially like to see email integrated with it. For example, if there is something I need to do in response to an email, I would want to create a task and attach a copy of the message to it.

Super productivity would be a nice addition to the Proton suite. It has integration with calendars and is open source.

Other email/calendar services have a means to store ToDos, usually integrated into calendar functionality (like including due dates and such, with calendar-related alerts.)
I am a big fan of Todo lists, but due to de-googling my life, Im currently using manual todo lists on my eInk tablet. It works, but I'd rather have it in digital form that is much easier to manage, shift tasks around, have alerts for upcoming due dates, etc.
Honestly, I think this basic feature would be implemented prior to launching into competition with google docs/etc. But I also am looking forward to competing SECURE and PRIVATE solutions to Google Docs as well.
Thanks

This is a must! I've really been enjoying the Proton suite on Linux, but the main thing missing is still having to rely on Microsoft's To Do app for scheduling and planning my day. I use it to track my upcoming bills, subscriptions, shopping lists, appointments, and various other lists to keep myself organized, yet the Proton Calendar app is insufficient in this area. The Calendar app lacks the functionality to create, group, and organize itemized lists where items can be ticked off once they're completed.
