Andy Yen steps aside
The user base most likely to go all-in with Proton are the least likely to approve of Yen's AI delirium. (I'm referencing the latest 404 Media article.)
We don't want a product that is AI coded. And we don't want the people hard at work, making Proton a viable alternative to big tech, being treated like garbage - like they work for Big Tech.
Proton needs a new CEO.

My subscription is set to expire next month, as of now I don't plan on renewing. Andy Yen and Bart Butler have completely abaondoned this community.

My subscription is not due yet as it's a year in advance. But I've already been wary of Andy when he was unprofessionally sharing his political views.
But the way he treated people is just beyond the pale.
I won't be staying when renewal comes up if he is still here.
No adult should talk to someone else like that. I'm disgusted. -

I have been a paying supporting user of Proton Mail since 2018. I currently subscribe to a family account and have moved all my immediate family members along with countless friends and extend family to the Proton suite of applications. Due to past and recent comments of Proton CEO Andy Yen that I do not feel embody the founding philosophies of Proton privacy and security. I no longer feel comfortable supporting Proton with Yen at the company. If Yen is still with Proton when my current subscription expires, after 8 years as a paid user, I will be ending my relationship Proton.

Perception is more important than truth? I don't think so, and I don't want to do or retain business with a company whose CEO believes this.

CEO and CTO need to be gone. The track record of overdelivering of promises underwhelming half baked apps, and the slow subpar Linux development cycle leads to these two. This company is in a unique position and it's two idiots that are the problem. This whole AI startegy and comments are beyond asinine. I don't see a reason to keep giving money to a company that betrays everything. I've been a member since inception. This is beyond disappointing. If these 2 aren't fired, I like many others are done. I've already identified replacements for their whole suite of offerings.
I will not support a company that bullies and willingly ***** on its employees if I can help it. This is more than a PR fiasco. This is a grave error in judgement and leadership is too insane to understand. An embarrassing disappointment and shame this CTO AND CEO have brought to a company once widely respected. If no change occurs, enshitification will and a slow death to what used to be a good company. Real good job guys.

I won't be renewing my subscription unless the CEO is fired for harassment and there's a serious, documented overhaul of the company policy.
No more toxicity, bring back cybersecurity and hiring engineers. Stop shoving AI down our throats. -

Andy needs to leave. Im sick of tech CEOs who think they know better than their users.
Ive been using proton for 9 years now. Multiple features STILL are not implemented in the apps they already have, and now they want to undermine the security that is the whole point with AI?

I used to work for tyrants who operated like Andy Yen, all in the name of profits. It put me in the hospital, and to this day, I have all sorts of chronic health issues from being in a toxic work environment for years.
I will not support a company that bullies its employees, nor will I support a company that goes this far in on AI.
When my subscription is up for renewal, if Andy Yen is still CEO, I'm gone. Get him out of there. -

I have Proton Unlimited, and loved it, until this. A psychotic CEO who can't read the room, treats employees as liabilities, throws away the trust and reputation that built the company, and is apparently clueless regarding software development, is simply too much. Definitely looking for alternatives now.

If the current leadership does not step down, I'll be canceling my subscription. This is the only way I can trust the company again.
Proton employees deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. I also want to see a public commitment to a company culture change. I won't give my money to another toxic tech company.
The proton user base may be less interested in the "move fast and break things" method of other companies, so looking at peers in the space and emulating them is an unwise business strategy.

Andy Yen and this whole AI initiative is contributing to Proton's downfall. I am cancelling my subscription and moving to Fastmail unless this is resolved.
