  1. Create limited passwords to access certain parts of a Proton account

    Summary:
    Allow users to create a second, "limited" password for their Proton account, which would only provide access to limited data (e-mails and Proton Pass data) of their choosing.

    How it would work:

    1. A user creates a limited password for their account and chooses which of their Proton e-mail addresses and Proton Pass data are accessible with it.

    2. Upon logging in with the limited password, only those selected addresses (and associated messages and data) and Proton Pass passwords are visible and accessible.

    3. Other e-mail addresses and Proton Pass data remain completely hidden and inaccessible.

    Purpose:
    Limited passwords would help users…

  3. Policy setting to require biometrics or PIN for mobile apps

    It would be great if there was a way through the web interface to check a box to REQUIRE all mobile apps to set up a PIN or biometrics / FaceID. Too many times have I installed the app on a new device and the app has not asked for PIN/biometrics, and the absence of the requirement is not a good reminder to create the requirement.

    Bonus points if that feature/policy requires re-authentication or escalation of privileges in order to set up the biometrics, or forcefully logs the user out on the device if they don't set up the feature.

    Like many others, I've been using a private Discord server to host images to post around the web, but by the end of the year, that is no longer going to be possible. I've been looking around for a way to host my images to post online, but I'm worried that the hosting sites I'm finding online are going to harvest data or train AI on my files.     This is a dorky suggestion from someone very low in IT knowledge, but I am sick of working from a computer (MS) that has me logged in and tracked all the time. I'm just sick of creepy. Maybe because I lived in a time when things weren't this creepy.

    Hello,

    I've been using proton unlimited for a while now and i love it.
    There's one thing that i still need to use another program for which is 'digipost' a dématérialisation application. It can login to my accounts from other companies to download and stock phone bills, rent bills, salary slips and even tax documents automaticaly.
    Proton drive can stock securely but it would be great to have a functionality that downloads all the bills automatically into proton drive in a structured way.

    A web and mobile maps-like application based on the free OpenStreetMap data. The app allows to privately search for locations, save favorite locations, get directions, and possibly share the users' location for a limited time with other Proton users. Moreover, users can create custom maps with custom paths or GPS points.

    It would be nice to pause syncing specific folders added in the app. For those instances where you just want to back a folder up once in a while.

  13. Allow for annotating emails

    The ability to take a quick note that gets saved to an email or highlight sections of an email would be an excellent tool for keeping track of a wide variety of things. Annotations/notes would be visible only to the user.

    This example came to mind when I purchased four game keys for friends and I lost track of which keys I gave to friends and who had accepted them.     Use geofencing (lat/long) to ensure that Proton Mail and Proton Drive attachments can only be opened when the receiver can verify that are in a safe location.

  15. Option to Change Date Format

    I would like a way to change the date format to under English language (or any other) as the default is set to MM/DD/YYYY. Not all countries or individuals use this format.

    Other formats I would like to see:
    DD/MM/YYYY
    DD.MM.YYYY
    YYYY-MM-DD

  16. 3rd Party Drive API/SDK

    I would like to see a restricted API service for 3rd party for storing structured/unstructured data within a user's Drive. This would be sandboxed but accessible by the user. This would allow the user to store and manipulate PII data via a third party authorized to access the API by Proton. Proton would be able to capture value by charging a licensing/subscription fee for access to the API. To ensure integrity, Proton would require third parties submit routine security audits to maintain access.

  19. Update without logging out

    The recent ProtonMail for Android 4.0.4 update logged me out and I missed some important emails. I only realized the update had logged me out when I wondered "why haven't I received any email for the past few days?" and opened the app.

    Please don't log users out when you update your apps. Or if that's unavoidable, at least send a notification to say something like "ProtonMail was just updated and we had to log you out. Please log back in so you don't miss any notifications"

  20. Out of Band Verification of Websites and JavaScript Integrity

    To reduce the risk of MITM attacks (e.g., eIDAS 2.0 proposal in the EU) and increase visibility of any code tampering for Proton resources, please consider a separate extension that works like the Code Verify extension produced by Meta: "We’ve given Cloudflare a cryptographic hash source of truth for WhatsApp Web’s JavaScript code. When someone uses Code Verify, the extension automatically compares the code that runs on WhatsApp Web against the version of the code verified by WhatsApp and published on Cloudflare.
