  1. Lock Session Functionality

    When using Proton Mail on a laptop, it’s often convenient to keep the session open to avoid re-entering the password and 2FA code every time. However, this can become a security concern, especially on shared or work computers.

    I propose introducing a “Lock Session” feature, a temporary lock that can be unlocked using a quick PIN (similar to Proton VPN). This would allow users to secure their active session without having to go through the full login process again.

  2. Add an "App Switcher" to desktop version, like browser versions of your services/apps.

    Would like to see an "App Switcher" like you have available on your browser versions of your services for my desktop as an option to move between available services/apps.

  3. Make Duo/Family true shared plans

    The idea is simple – allow for shared email addresses within Duo/Family plans, which anyone in the family group can access. Allow for true shared documents/folders in Drive, that anyone who they are shared with has equal access – at the moment, shared folders cannot be accessed through Finder (macOS), nor made available offline. To attach a file from a shared folder, the sharee must first download it from the web app, which makes a mockery of using cloud storage in the first place.

    It seems that Duo/Family is really just a pricing tool, not a shared family group in…

  5. Emergency access - read-only, customizing what they can see/access

    1) https://proton.me/blog/emergency-access nor https://proton.me/support/emergency-access explains if emergency contact can change account password/key which they have accessed (taking over account). It does not explain any other protections.

    2) Also the account owner should be able to limit emergency user access to read-only, maybe just for a limited time like 1-2 years, during which owner has ability to reset the emergency user access and they have to request again.

    3) Owner should be able to limit access only to some services, like for example Drive or even certain folder of a Drive or Mail. This possibility I have not seen announced in…

  6. Inactive account policy - keep account when deleting data

    Hello proton team

    I have a new suggestion regarding the inactive account policy. Instead of permanently deleting a user's account if they haven't logged in for a year, I propose an alternative approach.

    The idea is to delete their data while keeping the account itself, which would minimize costs for Proton. In the event that the user logs in again at a later time, they would login to an empty account (like if they just created it), but at least they won't lose their email address.

    A lot of users keep a protonmail account as a recovery email for other…

  7. Desktop App themes

    It would be great to have the option for themes on the desktop app (this is available on the web version). I use the Proton theme, but the desktop app only seems to have a light mode.

    Any chance we'll get more customization on the colors?

  8. Always connect to Proton Wallet using a password.

    The Proton wallet should be more secure by enabling its two additional options:
    2) Always require a password to log in to Proton Wallet, even if we are already logged in to another Proton application. Ideally with two-factor authentication.
    1) Log out after a few minutes of inactivity.

    Context: I just realised that:
    1) Even if I don't tick the ‘Remember me’ box, as soon as a session is open on the computer, I can log in to Proton Mail or Proton Wallet or other services without a password on the Vivaldi browser. This is still the case even after…

  10. Bad Proton platform interaction with ICS email attachments

    Proton Mail often fails to present UI controls to accept/decline calendar events.

    This happens for about 10% of ICS attachments, depending on the service that generates the event data.

    The Proton Calendar website permits these attachment files to be uploaded and accepted.

    The Proton Calendar mobile app, such as for iOS/iPadOS, fails to support ICS file uploads.

    This causes unnecessary friction for mobile users.

    Please fix the mobile Proton Mail and Proton Calendar apps to handle the very same ICS data as the Proton Calendar website.

  11. Proton Authenticator Android App Lock and TOTP Visualization

    1.Currently, In Android, Proton Authenticator can only be locked using Biometrics. It would be awesome if it could also be locked with PIN, like Proton Pass.
    2. The option to hide TOTP codes works as intended. However, it's useful only when copying and pasting codes by tapping. If I need to read a code for a specific entry to then write on my PC, it won't be useful. Adding a way to reveal a code for a specific entry on tap, would make it better!

  12. Make Proton user friendly for drafting emails with Undo / Redo button [Ctrl-Z / Ctrl-Y] like Gmail has

    Make Proton user friendly for drafting emails with the Undo / Redo button [ Ctrl-Z / Ctrl-Y ] like Gmail has.

    Without these FREE features, users like me can not properly draft a bit more complex emails with cut and/or copy and paste.

    Maybe it's just me but if these features do exist, they are not easy to find.

    Or are these Undo/Redo features just for none FREE accounts?

    If this is the case and the Undo/Redo feature is just for PAID accounts, it seems Proton management needs a rethink to keep their FREE features updated to what Gmail and…

  13. Allow payment for Proton subscription plans before the due date

    My renewal for Proton Duo is about a month away. I was looking on the Proton website for a way to pay for the next 12 months before the renewal date, but to no avail.

  14. Reduce Proton Mail Memory Usage

    Proton App on Desktop is using a lot of memory (often 5 Go).
    More optimisation would be very welcome!

  15. Qwen-MT Modell for Lumo

    Since Lumo currently only uses small models, it would be a great addition to include the Qwen-MT model. It is exceptionally good at translation and supports a wide range of languages.

  16. Markdown notes app

    Markdown app request

    A secure, private markdown notes app would:
    * Open new revenue opportunities
    * Extend Proton’s privacy ecosystem
    * Expand customer's digital workflows
    * Leverage existing encryption technology
    * Clearly meet user demand (well, at least mine)
    * Reinforce the promise of “privacy by design.”

    I am using Obsidian and really like it, yet unencrypted notes on my devices is a significant concern.

  17. Hide unused labels instead of delete them

    Sometime a label is useful during a certain period of time. Despite a label is no longer applied to new messages, it is still important to be kept to tag old ones. For example, a messages related to a renovation you've made to your house in the past. The renovation is over, but you want to keep the history.

    For the sake of cleanliness, It would be useful to be able to hide unused old label from the side bar. Messages tag with that label should still be found though.

  18. I would like a way to get automatic updates when the Proton Breach Observatory is updated

    I see that there is a new Proton Observatory, I am a Proton user, If there was a feature such as an RSS version of this I can set a watch against it and be notified if the site is updated. Alternatively I need a way to sign up to be notified such as an email subscription list or similar.

  20. Google scholar alternative

    Thia idea probably is for the future, but in the apirit of getting out of the google sphere, I would like to propose an alternative to google scholar.

    Google scholar ia a simple search tool for diacovering scientific articles, in which you can also follow researchers, receive mails when these researchers publiah new articles, and you can make lists of published papers based on your chosen categories.

    If you have plans to partner up with the team from Brave or Duck Duck Go, then thia could be a nice tool to add.
