Markdown notes app
Markdown app request
A secure, private markdown notes app would:
* Open new revenue opportunities
* Extend Proton’s privacy ecosystem
* Expand customer's digital workflows
* Leverage existing encryption technology
* Clearly meet user demand (well, at least mine)
* Reinforce the promise of “privacy by design.”I am using Obsidian and really like it, yet unencrypted notes on my devices is a significant concern.

Option to disable login via aliases
The idea: A user could choose to allow logins only through their primary (default) address (e.g., aaa@proton.me).
Any login attempts using an alias (e.g., bbb@proton.me) would be automatically rejected, even if the correct password is provided.
This would prevent attackers from trying to brute-force the account even if they know one of the aliases.5 votes -
.heic
Hi,
I hope you are having a blessed day. Recently ran into a conversion issue for heic. I know a lot of customers use iphone's and based on the transfer of pictures it would be amazing if you added support to preview heic within your own amazing email product. This would save a lot of time (maybe even the ability to convert to jpeg when it notices a attachment).293 votes -

An ultra-encrypted toggle-able choice for both free-tier/premium, only to proton-mail users, without the choice to share/forward.
An ultra-encrypted toggle-able choice for both free-tier/premium, only to proton-mail users, without the choice to share/forward; like a confidential mode, with AES-256 separate keys for every message or thread. Or a separate, non-email service/window that may be directed TO proton-mail addresses, but more-so like a chat. Such as “ProtonChat”.

IMAP Label Support in Proton Mail Bridge (X‑GM‑EXT‑1 or equivalent)
Hello Proton Mail Bridge Team,
I would like to request support for applying Proton Mail labels via IMAP.
Currently, the Bridge exposes labels as IMAP folders (e.g., Labels/Paperless), but it does not support any IMAP mechanism for applying a label to a message.
This creates a limitation:
- When a user labels an email in Proton Mail, the Bridge shows it in both INBOX and the label folder (virtual projection).
- When an IMAP client moves a message into Labels/<Label>, the message is removed from INBOX instead of receiving the label.
- There is no IMAP command available to apply…4 votes -
It would be very helpful if Proton Docs had the same editing tools as Google docs. I work a lot with shared documents and I like the privacy
I would like to see the same editing tools as Google Docs. Collaborating on documents is much easier if you can work on the shared document right there. Formatting, page numbers, symbols, the works. Thanks.

My partner needs accsess to the same account? That is all
My partner of 8 plus years needs access to the same **** profile that we've both been using for distrokid for years. Why is this so stupidly difficult

Configure spellchecker language in desktop app
In a browser, Proton Mail benefits from the browser functions to spell check. In the new Proton Mail installed application, the language cannot be configured or I do not know how to do it...
It would be very useful to be able to configure the spell checker language for people that are writing in a language that is different than the OS language used.
Thank You

Migrating UserVoice to Quackback
I love that Proton get the community involved for new feature requests but everytime I come here it feels cluttered and filled with duplicates.
New platforms handle duplicates better and Quackback even has a migration tool!2 votes -
Private browser or private browser compatible
Proton's encryption would be amazing for browsing. However, for those that love security and use apps like DuckDuckGo, Ecosia, Opera, etc. It would be nice to have extensions adjusted for those as well.

Add better filter/sort for Inbox in Proton Mail
While filters allow you to set up rules for moving emails to other folders, I find when I do that I often miss important emails because I watch my inbox but don't have time to regularly go through every folder. When it's time to clean out my inbox (currently have 357 unread messages), it's nice to go through them by sender. I can sort by the size of the email or the receipt date, but not by sender. I can type in a filter at the top, but I have to remember to check "Inbox" or it shows me everything.…

Allow keyboard shortcuts to function when the arrow is over the message in the list
Hovering the cursor over a message in the list and pressing the desired shortcut greatly speeds up message management. It's much better than having to select every message before taking action.
If possible, please implement this feature.

Proton PGP Keys signing & verifying all *nix/Windows/Android/iPhone apps. I think users should be able to verify their download.
Many other applications are signed and verified by their makers. Proton should have PGP keys referenced on their website, that sign and verify the applications for download are legitimate and verifiably Proton Products. Think Veracrypt/TAILS/Linux Mint. All those those OSes & software have PGP keys that you can check, in order to make sure what you're downloading is from who it says its from. If I'm using PGP keys within Proton to sign my email for this same purpose; I think Proton should also use these same keys to verify/sign its own products.
Thanks.

Proton RCS Phone Carrier Messaging Service
RCS is an "upgrade" to SMS/MMS messaging with read receipts, typing indicators, the ability to send larger files, and encryption. Proton can implement end-to-end encryption for this service, similar to many others. No other company could pull off a service like this like Proton could.
I'd also love to see a feature that allows users to sync their messages to their desktop, similar to Google Messages.
