  1. Proton playing a service provider role in the IDAS 2.0 EU framework?

Dear proton, members, not sure whether this idea has been posted/thought about before: The European EIDAS 2.0 regulation has been approved in April 2024, and member states now have started the IT design and implementation. EIDAS 2.0 withe EUID wallet concept means opportunities but also privacy concerns with respect to saving electronic identities, certification, health information etc (e.q. everything one can store in de EUID wallet and exchange with other parties). I'd like (love) to see organisations such as Proton play a vital provider role with the EIDAS 2.0 frame work - such as the Wallet Provider role and the…

  2. Proton Pass: Poor UX with password confirmation fields

When a website requests confirmation of the account's current password, then Proton Pass very often fails to populate the field with the current password. Instead, Proton Pass always attempts to generate a new password.

Please present an option to populate with the current password, before assuming that I want to generate passwords.

The current UX is risky. Password confirmation tends to coincide specifically with account actions involving changing account email addresses, changing account passwords, chancing account usernames, and/or changing 2FA options. It's easy to accidentally submit a generated password for fields that really need the old password.

    This can lock…

  3. Curated unitary suggestions list

Since there are a lot of suggestions which are non unitary leading to duplicates and overlaps, it would be useful to get a true vision of the priorities if Proton Admins could create a curated list for people to vote on.

  4. Proton Core session and unified authentication using biometrics

Right now, on desktop, Proton is a bunch of apps with a bunch of ways of accessing them: native apps, bridge apps, browser extensions and web apps. This means that we need to handle a lot of proton sessions for one computer.

This means that if I am on the web in my emails and I want to go to the Pass desktop app, I am most likely gonna need to enter my password.

Then, in terms of security, I can setup the Pass desktop app to require a PIN or a password every time I open the app and…

  5. Document and version your API

There are a lot of places where it would be amazing to integrate the whole Proton suite. For example, into Gnome Online Accounts, which would expose seamless usage of Proton services within the Gnome interface, core apps, etc.

It is already possible to do so for your the email service by exposing locally an email server through bridge and adding it as so.

There are many use cases that would benefit if you exposed an API well documented and versioned, so that the community could implement their own solutions.

  6. Proton Support to Move to Fully E2E Encryption

Ar present, Proton Support is not conducted end-to-end encrypted. This should be quite unacceptable from a privacy focused company and should be moved into the Proton domain with E2EE messaging. Especially so also as sometimes there is a need for users to divulge sensitive private information.

Non-E2EE Support simply is NOT on, Proton!

  7. Photo Editor + more ai

I would like to see a photo editor in the proton drive app, with maybe some featured inspired by the tech giants (apple & Google) but running on-device or atleast from an open source encrypted server. I commonly end up going to Google photos to edit then back to proton drive and it's not really ideal.

  8. Deleting email using Thunderbird

Can I do this or is it a "new" idea? According to my online research, the following is true:
"Deleting Emails in Bulk (Using Bridge); As a paying customer, you can use ProtonMail Bridge to connect your email client (e.g., Thunderbird) to your ProtonMail account. In your email client, select the emails you want to delete and use the client’s built-in mass deletion feature. Note that this method requires you to have an email client installed and configured." Is this correct?

  9. Proton Mail: Automatically populate filter name from email subject

When I click on the funnel to create a filter based on an email, it would be convenient to automatically suggest a filter name equivalent to the email's subject line.

I create dozens of filters with similar values, so having to manually copy and paste the subject line for each individual filter creation wizard is slower than necessary.

  11. Improved session management

Asking for improvements to the existing "Session management" under
    "Security and privacy"
    1. Capitalize the Second word: "Session management" -> "Session Management"
    2. Sort by type: rather than by date
    a. Mail, Calendar, Drive, VPN, Pass
    b. web, Windows, macOS, GNU/Linux, Android, iOS
    c. Also by date: Ascending and Descending like when sorting emails
    3. Give names to each session: Mullvad VPN does this well
The Problem: In "Session management" each entry does not clearly

correspond to a session due to only the "App" and "Date" being
listed. This becomes a problem when there are many sessions.
    The Solution: Give…

  12. Desktop app: read url before clicking

If I want to know whether I can trust a link in an e-mail I need to be able to read it before I click on it. In a browser this is included for free, when you hover over an anchor, you see the link in the lower left corner. The desktop app does not have this feature, or something similar.

Related: I want to be able to copy a url from a link. Then I can open it in another browser than my default browser. (Let me know if this should be a separate idea)
    To me, it's a…

  20. Proton Pass autofill popup covers the login button.

Proton Pass has autofill which is great, but the popup is displayed over the login button which interferes with mousing over to click "login" on nearly every site.
