1. Proton Docs - Scaling line height with font size

   When adjusting the font size to be small to fit a lot of content on a single page for printing, the line height spacing does not scale correctly. Right now, I'm annoyingly having to hack this myself by disabling the margin-top on the html before printing:

   Since signing up for Proton, I've been impressed in the overall quality of the products and services. There's just a number of quality of life features that are holding it back to be a complete replacement for document usage.

4. Android Proton Apps in single, verifiable, supported Repository

   Currently Proton makes all of its APKs available via protonapps.com; however it does not make the primary pages for the APKs easy to access or obvious. Additionally, Proton has been previously committed to following a more open-source modelling, publishing to Github. However consistency across Proton Apps is quite poor, and trying to access APKs via this method easily (in essence, as per an RSS feed) is not ideal.

   I note that Proton partially supports alternative with VPN and Pass both on F-Droid. Whilst the GrapheneOS community often has issues with this, it is ultimately up to the user.

   I would recommend that Proton however commits entirely to at least 1 complete solution to allow reliable and clear alternaive access to APKs outside fo the Google Play environment for its entire app suite.

   1. Accrescent Store
   2. F-Droid Store
   3. Github
   4. protonapps.com

   Any of these would be fine, but it requires fully published and current APK files and the proper support to enable easy tracking and validation

   My personal preference is Accrescent as a more rigorous privacy-centric "storefront", it would seem the missions of Proton overlap with projects like Graphene and Accrescent - and the benefit of the latter is that it would not lock people into Graphene either by default.

5. Lock Session Functionality

   When using Proton Mail on a laptop, it’s often convenient to keep the session open to avoid re-entering the password and 2FA code every time. However, this can become a security concern, especially on shared or work computers.

   I propose introducing a “Lock Session” feature, a temporary lock that can be unlocked using a quick PIN (similar to Proton VPN). This would allow users to secure their active session without having to go through the full login process again.

6. Detect Busy Git Repositories and Delay Sync to Prevent Corruption

   I would like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve reliability when working with Git repositories inside Proton Drive.

   Problem:
   Git operations (commit, checkout, rebase, merge, gc, etc.) modify many files inside the .git directory and are not atomic at the directory level. If Proton Drive syncs the repository while such an operation is in progress, this can result in corrupted repositories, broken working copies, or inconsistent history.

   Suggested Solution:
   When Proton Drive detects that a directory is a Git repository (contains a .git folder), the sync client should delay syncing that directory while the repository is “busy”.

   Simple detection method:
   A Git repository is in use when lock files exist, especially:

   .git/index.lock
   .git/HEAD.lock
   .git/packed-refs.lock
   .git/config.lock
   .git/shallow.lock

   If any of these files exist, Proton Drive should temporarily skip syncing that repository and retry later.

   More robust method (used by some sync clients):

   Detect file activity in .git/objects/ and pack files (.pack, .idx)
   Wait until no changes occur in the .git directory for a certain time (e.g., 10–30 seconds)
   Then start syncing

   Why this matters:
   Many developers store working directories inside Proton Drive. Syncing during active Git operations is a common cause of repository corruption with cloud sync tools. Delaying sync while a repo is busy would prevent data loss and reduce sync conflicts.

   This change would make Proton Drive much safer and more attractive for developers.

   I would like to suggest a feature that would significantly improve reliability when working with Git repositories inside Proton Drive.

   I'd like to propose a new Proton service: an end-to-end encrypted portfolio manager that would complement Proton Wallet.

   Similar to services like Finanzfluss Copilot or Parqet Portfolio Manager or even Google Finance, this would be a comprehensive investment tracking tool where users can:

   Track stocks, ETFs, bonds, crypto, and other investments
   Monitor portfolio performance with real-time market data
   Analyze asset allocation and diversification
   View historical performance and returns
   Track dividends and capital gains

   Unlike existing portfolio managers, all user data would be end-to-end encrypted. Only the user would have access to:

   What they've invested in
   How much they own
   Their purchase prices and dates
   Their complete trading history
   Their total portfolio value

   Current portfolio tracking services require users to upload sensitive financial data to third-party servers where it can be accessed, analyzed, or potentially compromised. A Proton-based solution would ensure complete privacy while still providing the analytical tools investors need.
   Integration Potential:
   This could integrate seamlessly with Proton Wallet, creating a complete privacy-focused financial ecosystem for Proton users.

8. Have chat or phone support for mail and calendars

   Have a chat or phone support to be able to resolve issues or answer questions on the spot instead of it taking several days.

   The possibility to have a conversation would allow much faster resolution and much easier onboarding for new clients.

   One email every 24 to 72 hours means it can take over a week to resolve something and customers are stuck until the next email.

   In my case it has been 9 days, and I just realised the solution confirmed as valid despite my doubts, by CS in today’s email seems to actually be moot, delaying me again of an other 24hours at least.

9. Reduce # of clicks to move a message

   Hi there! When I highlight a message and click the "Move" option, a list of folders is presented, requiring a second click on the chosen folder and a third click on the Move button.

   It would be faster to double-click the appropriate folder in order to move the message. Alternatively, as you type in the filter box, when the correct folder name is displayed, allow the user to hit the Enter key to move the item to the displayed folder.

   It takes a cursor move + 2 extra clicks to move an item to the desired folder. Having used Gmail and Outlook for many years, this was a great feature, allowing one click or key press to move an item.

    I use filters and labels a lot.

    Instead of having to dig into Settings > Filters, I'd like to just select the sender address and Add to Filter or Create New Filter.

    I'm most often in the MacOs desktop app but sometimes in the iOS app.

    • Dedicated mailbox for unread emails:
      An inbox that displays only unread messages would be very useful for users who want to focus solely on new items.

    • Persistence of the “Unread” filter:
      As an alternative, when applying the “Unread” filter in the “All Mail” mailbox, it would be helpful if this setting remained active when navigating between folders and upon returning, avoiding the need to reapply the filter each time.

    Can you up max folders in Free Proton Mail from 3, to say 10? Just signed up for a new Proton Mail acct, looking to switch to a new platform. But VERY disapp'd to see 3's the limit! Between that and all the upgrade reminders, I'm not so sure Proton's my answer. Merci from Canada!!

19. There should be a button in the email client that opens attached files immediately without having to save file to disk with name.

    Currently you click a file attachment and it might say "Preiew for this file type is not supported" and the email client displays a Download button. In other mail clients, there is usually an accompanying "Open" button, which saves the file to a temporary location on the harddrive and then opens it with the system's registered associated program.

    On windows, they use the "open" utility, on linux it's xdg-open, etc, you can avoid having to save a file with a name to a location and then find that file to open it by just having a button that says "Open" right away. This would speed up my workflow.

20. Hide the unread count for spam

    Currently, the Spam category shows a count of unread emails. This is kind of attention-grabbing when scanning the sidebar for what I should be paying attention to, so it would be nice to either not show it at all, or have an option not to show it.

    The same goes for Trash emails, these things should be more “out of the way”.

    This is especially annoying in the mobile app, because there is no way to hide the archive/spam/trash/all-mails like there is on web.
