  1. SimpleLogin alias whitelist

    Hi,

I really appreciate the ability to mute or block individual senders for a given alias in SimpleLogin, it's incredibly useful. I’d love to see a complementary feature: the ability to whitelist specific senders instead.

Specifically, it would be great to have a "whitelist mode" toggle for aliases, where all incoming messages are muted or blocked by default, and only explicitly whitelisted addresses are allowed through, mirroring the current muting functionality, but in reverse.

By the way, I think SimpleLogin is absolutely fantastic. It has completely transformed how I manage my digital life across email, newsletters, apps, and beyond. Huge…

  2. Add DARK MODE to PROTON DOCS (or just use Opera Browser)

Only little intervention needed to extend the structure of proton docs, to a fully adjustable background feature. Maybe even ask Lumo to do it over night. pls my eyes hurt...Or just ask opera to open it for you and forcing it to dark mode

  3. Add CHAT FUNCTION to PROTON DOCS

Only little intervention needed to extend the structure of proton docs, to a fully functional but minimalistic chat window with an option login and an option guest. Maybe even ask Lumo to do it over night.

  4. Add "Proton Authenticator" in the "Report a Problem" dialog ;-)

Proton Authenticator is missing in the "Report a Problem" category drop down list.

  5. Desktop Application & Chrome extension integration

Proton services and products do not integrate seamlessly and currently clash with each other. This is an issue across multiple services and not just a Proton VPN issue.

    The issue specific to Proton VPN;
If both desktop application and browser extension is active at the same time, no connection is available in the browser (Vivaldi in this case, which offers built-in support for Proton VPN).

    Solution;
The browser extension should detect if the desktop application has an active VPN connection before attempting to create its own VPN connection. Similarly, the desktop application should detect if a browser extension is currently…

  6. Crowdfund Linux parity

Run a crowdfunding campaign to put complete Linux parity on the Proton roadmap. This will allow customers and potential customers to demonstrate support more tangibly than with suggestions and votes.

It is clear from broad and specific suggestions here on UserVoice that there is customer demand for improved Linux support. I can only assume that you are lacking concrete evidence for the SIZE of the demand. This is the intended purpose of crowdfunding campaigns.

This is a specific, actionable suggestion to provide a solid business case for Linux support. It would also provide potential customers with confidence that Linux support…

  7. Feature Request: Unified Sync & Health Audit Tool for Proton Apps

First, thank you for your continued work on security, privacy, and open-source transparency. Proton has built incredible trust by consistently investing in external audits and making code available for inspection.

I’d like to propose a Unified Sync & Health Audit Tool to strengthen reliability across Proton services (Mail, Drive, Pass, Calendar, Authenticator, VPN and etc). While current audits cover security and privacy, there is no integrated way for users to verify that all Proton apps are syncing correctly, consistently, and without errors across devices.

    Problem
    • Users sometimes experience sync delays, failed uploads, or conflicts (especially with Drive and multi-device…

  8. Unique File Links for each item in Proton Drive (without public sharing)

Generate a unique link to individual files that aren’t publicly accessible.
In Google Drive, right click any file > share > copy link

You get a link to that file which you can add in to my own files, into docs, calendar entries, etc. In this way, I've built out my own system, where I once logged in, I can navigate from calendar to an important contract, or from docs / sheets, to an associated PDF / image, etc.

Include support, so that the linked files open in the relevant app, not kicking the user out of the mobile app…

  9. Better Drive Integration with iOS

There really needs to be better integration with iOS and drive. It can be really frustrating at times trying to upload things from any random app to drive. There are times I try to upload a PDF via a notes app, or from a Ted message that I got. It is never an option. You always have to save to iOS Files app first then to Drive. I have found that to be the case with any app that I try to share a file to Drive. Would be nice to have that directly connected to bypass an extra step…

  10. Link to Standard Notes blog from Proton blog

The Proton product updates blog should include a link to the Standard Notes blog, in the same way it links to the SimpleLogin blog. It would help make it easier to stay up to date.

  11. Link from proton.me to protonapps.com

protonapps.com is supposedly an official Proton AG resource, but there is no such indication or information on proton.me.

It’d be helpful for Proton to link to protonapps.com from proton.me to shore up confidence in the community that this is a website we can rely upon. Ideally, all download links would redirect to protonapps.com.

    For example:

https://proton.me/drive/download would redirect to or be replaced with https://protonapps.com/#/drive.

    https://proton.me/download/drive/macos/2.10.1/ProtonDrive-2.10.1.dmg would actually be https://protonapps.com/download/drive/macos/2.10.1/ProtonDrive-2.10.1.dmg.

This would also ensure that app downloads and link on protonapps.com are always up to date.

  12. Simplify 'Move to Folder' Button

When I want to move an email to a custom folder, I have to select the folder from the drop-down menu and press 'Apply'. Rather, simply pressing the name of the custom folder should move that email to that folder, thereby removing the need to press 'Apply'.

  13. Storage one time purchase

It would be wonderful to have an option to buy storage in proton. So that someone could offload their files from other services like google to totally degoogle their lives. A one time purchase that was separate from your monthly subscription would be great!

  14. Anonymous Blog Hosting

Staying anonymous online is the reason that I use Proton products. For people that would like to create a blog for whistle-blowing purposes or for reporting things happening in the workplace is very difficult with existing blog hosting services. Most of the so-called "free" blog sites are either in countries with poor privacy policies or limit the features for a free account. For those of us that do not use crypto, this is a problem. If Proton was to offer a true way for journalists or private citizens a secure way to expose criminality or express opinions without fearing reprisal…

  16. Proton for the Medical World

As long as Proton stays in Switzerland, your service seems to be suitable for medical information exchange between health practitionners. Many of my colleagues complain about the Hin monopole, its complexity, the lack of competitors. Some already use Proton. I suggest Proton may develop its offer for the medical world, which migth add more weight to the on going negociations in regard of the potentiel change of privacy law in Switzerland.

  17. Archival options for deceased or otherwise historically significant accounts

There's an internet activist who's on the way to expose serious community and structural scandals in a well-known encyclopedia platform which could very well become another Epstein moment if they got their wish. In anticipation of that they said on X that they're gonna voluntarily donate their web accounts and so on for congressional investigations and subsequent archival preservation one day.

Whether it's crazy for you is an open question but inspired by that, I want to suggest that Protonmail offers options for those who want their accounts to be archived/locked forever upon death which can either be proven…

  20. Support Accrescent store

I know many people here seem to want Proton to also publish on F-Droid, but F-Droid (as was also pointed out here) has some serious problems (see https://privsec.dev/posts/android/f-droid-security-issues/).

To make both the people - like me - wanting to have access to Proton Apps not just via Play Store or GitHub happy, but also to keep high security standards, Accrescent would be an awesome solution.
It is a secure and private app store that doesn't need Google Play Services and aims to be developer-friendly.
