  1. Filter by Sender

So Yahoo has a feature that I have found very useful. There is a small magnifying icon that when clicked, lists all emails to and from the from email address. Presently, I have to manually perform a search, open the email, copy the address, go to advanced search, paste the email address and so on. And well, that is way too many clicks.

  2. Make Archive a top-level action after reading a message

My normal action after reading an email is to archive it. Yet the archive action is generally hidden under a menu rather than being at the top level after reading a message.

On web, Archive is contained within a meatball menu at the top of the message. So after reading, it takes 3 actions to archive it: 1) scroll to the top, 2) open the meatball menu, 3) archive it.

On mobile Android beta, archive is not available on the bottom bar (the actions are mark as read, move, trash, and label). Archive should be one of these options -…

  3. Recovery Grid

More of a resource, but I couldn't find a way to request it. If there is a more appropriate place, please let me know.

Considering Proton offers multiple types of recovery (currently Account versus Data), I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of breakdown of what is recoverable between these types of recovery. Understand this may require some conversations and am hoping a few questions below, might help illustrate where I am going.

If I only recover my account - Am I able to:
see and access my emails? If so, will be able to…

  4. Encrypted Period Tracker

    Expanding Privacy Services
Proton can extend its privacy-focused offerings (email, cloud storage, VPN) by adding an encrypted period tracker, reinforcing its commitment to user security.

    Addressing Privacy Concerns
With growing data privacy awareness, users need secure options for sensitive health data like menstrual cycles. An encrypted tracker ensures this data remains private.

    Future-Proofing
As demand for secure health tracking rises, an encrypted period tracker will keep Proton ahead in the privacy tech landscape.

  5. Make Bridge and Desktop App free

Seriously, why does this cost money? I hate going to the website every time I need to check my email.

  6. Request for calendar widgets

Please implement widgets for Proton Calendar. Widgets help me quickly review my day faster than launching apps.

For comparison, Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar provide widgets for macOS, Windows, iOS, iPadOS, and Android.

Update: iOS calendar widgets broke today. So there's no alternative. Please implement basic calendar widgets for iOS and Android.

  8. New Android widgets for Proton Calendar

The existing Proton Calendar widget is honestly very bad looking and has no customization options. It would be nice to have different formats, viewing features and the ability to choose the color/transparency.

  9. Access the main Proton page while signed in

I just want to be able to access the main Proton site page while logged in. It is frustrating having to choose a Proton service to go to when I just want to access my account info and explore what is going on with Proton. I always have to have 2 tabs open to do everything I am wanting to do with Proton.

  10. Sort by size (bytes)

This will allow deciding what to delete and what attachments may be too heavy for a program or OS to handle.

  11. Duplicate keypasses

Most of the time, when I use Proton Pass keypass 2FA on iOS, then the list shows two copies of the same keypass.

The vault only shows one keypass per login account. I'm not sure why the keypass list shows two so often on use.

  13. Proton Drive menulet icon oscillates during mass file sync

The Proton Drive icon in the macOS menubar keeps rapidly changing icons. This happens when syncing several files.

    Please stop this, it's distracting.

Set the icon in terms of the overall sync state (fully in sync vs syncing), instead of setting the icon per individual file progress.

  14. Consider responsibility along with privacy

Privacy is important in this world where our personal information is monetized and almost not controlled by the individual anymore.

However, a potential fallout is the misuse of a private service such as Proton by people who don't take responsibility for their actions or by people who intentionally want to do harm. I understand that Proton cannot take responsibility for how those people use Proton, and I hope that Proton won't risk being taken down due to that kind of usage.

Maybe to prevent that from happening, Proton could use some sort of "good global citizen" wording to encourage users…

  15. Proton Pass: Add a checkbox to note when email used for 2FA

Many online services use email as a form of 2FA.

Would be helpful to add a checkbox to mark login items that behave this way. Then, the report generated for login items missing 2FA, can focus better on accounts that have NO 2FA of any kind.

Later, we can introduce an option to control whether email is considered sufficient security for 2FA, compared to other methods like TOTP and passkeys.

  16. Proton Pass: Add phone number field for login items

Many newer services like messaging applications use a phone number as the primary login identifier.

Also, services use phone numbers to implement 2FA.

Adding a phone number field as an alternative to email or username, helps to improve Proton Pass's UX, and provide more useful results in 2FA checks.

Later, we can introduce an option for users to warn on phone number and/or email address based 2FA.

  17. Wrong 2FA status

Proton Pass presents a redundant warning indicating to enable 2FA for login items that already have passkeys registered with Proton Pass. That's a form of 2FA.

Please treat passkeys as at least as secure as TOTP, when calculating which login items to warn as missing 2FA.

  18. Lag in Proton Mail read/unread status

I often have to refresh the Inbox page multiple times before the viewed status finally settles to the correct Read value. Otherwise it insists the email is Unread. Even though I've opened it multiple times.

  19. Proton Pass WYSIWYG editor truncating Memorable generated passwords

When I use a Memorable password generated by Proton Pass, then Proton Pass makes it difficult to view the entire password all at once.

Please allow the password field to grow vertically to accommodate wrapping across multiple lines.

This problem happens at least in the Google Chrome Proton Pass browser plugin in the WYSIWYG editor UI, and likely happens on other platforms as well.

As long as you're going to generate extremely long passwords like that, you should show them without requiring marqueeing/scrolling the text.

  20. New Suggestions

Hello Proton team! I am writing these lines to suggest 3 new ideas to create, which could be very interesting and very well received by the user in general. And thus Proton would grow in services, to increase the security and privacy of the end user.

The first suggestion is based on creating an app or apps to store phone contacts. Normally this service is divided into 2 apps, one for saving and editing contacts, and another for making calls, viewing call logs, etc.

I don't know if it is mandatory to create these two apps, for a better functioning…
