  1. Spotlight/Quick Access feature

1Password has an amazing feature that I believe not everyone knows about called Quick Access. It's a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + Space / Command + Shift + Space) that opens a window like Spotlight where you can search through all your entries, copy fields, auto-type, open website on browser, copy TOTP and etc. Great for quickly copying passwords and TOTP codes for native applications. As a developer, this is really important to me and it is one of the few reasons I haven't migrated Proton Pass yet.

  2. Add proper support for importing passwords from the apple ios passwords app

In the apple passwords app on ios it has a button to export passwords but the problem is that proton pass does not show up in the list of compatible apps

    img: https://salty-mat.github.io/IMG_5693.jpg

In the image it only shows bitwarrden as a compatible app even though i have proton pass installed

  3. Only unlock one or more vaults in browser extension

Proton Pass isn't just a password manager. it should not retrieve and decrypt every vault/item with a single PIN Code especially in browser. I do not think my ssh keys or medical records vault will be helpful in browser extension.

    Possible Solutions:

    1. Add the option to lock each vault with a second password (should be synced across clients)
    2. On login select which vaults to be available in this client. can't be changed without re-auth.

with one of these implemented I could for example have a vault for my shopping and only unlock it on my shopping browser/device for added privacy/security.

  4. Give a name to websites

Ability to label the websites in the login's list with a name to identify them

When there is a login used for a long list of websites, it's hard to recognize them, even more if, for example fo development purposes you use the IP instead of an FQDN

For example see how 1Password does it

  5. Proton Pass Auto-Fill access only

Just like LastPass -- be able to share a password login, but without the recipient being able to see the actual password... they can only use it/it will autofill on their end when given permission.

SUPER important when having employees... I have to use lastpass (which isnt actually secure) bc it gives the option to share without recipient viewing passwords :/

  7. 2FA Recovery Code Slots for Pass

    Here's how I envision this:

When a user is prompted to enter a recovery code, Proton Pass could autofill a random code saved in the slots—or when a user is in need of a recovery code, they could manually generate a random recovery code from any available slot and copy their code to their clipboard.

Users must manually enter their recovery codes in Proton Pass. An option to automatically remove a recovery code when used can be toggled, and will be enabled by default.

I personally think it'd be better than saving recovery codes in notes, and it allows more…

  8. New item type "email account"

I am missing an item type to store the data of an email account such as the SMTP and IMAP server addresses, their ports, the handshake type, the passwords used etc.
This information is required whenever one needs to reinstall an email client. It would be faster if one could retrieve this Information from Proton Pass than having to google the provider's website to find out.

  9. Allow customization of search result display. Example: [title] ([vault_name])

Current search results shows on each line:

    [categoryicon] [vaulticon] [title]

It would be lovely if there were a feature that would allow users to customize the search result display using a simple bracket syntax using pre-defined allowable variables. For example, I would like my search results to display as:

    [vaultname]: [categoryicon] [title]
    or:
    [categoryicon] [title][NEWLINE][vaulticon] [vaultname] ([lastedited])
    or:
[categoryicon] [title,50] ([vaultname])... where ",50" indicates truncate to 50 characters.

I could explain my use case... but invariably users will want customization options. Using bracket syntax, or a drag and drop interface to select available variables, would add a lot of flexibility…

  10. I want a feature to categorize saved items...

Others have already requested this, but it could be “Categories,” “Folders,” or “Tags.”
It doesn't have to be manual categorization—automatic sorting would be fine too.
I just want to categorize and organize them.

I know Vaults can be used for classification.
But Vaults aren't fundamentally designed to function like folders or categories.
And if you can only use 20 of them, Vaults are insufficient as a replacement for folders or categories.

When you have thousands of items, it's crucial to understand what services you're storing items on and how many you have.
If it's just login information fills, classification isn't…

  11. Sync aliases with SimpleLogin to different vaults

SimpleLogin supports directories and regex. I want to sync for every directory/regex to a different vault in Proton Pass to keep it structured and have clear responsibility borders..
Currently, I can only specify one vault where all SimpleLogin aliases will be imported into, and then I need to manually clean up.

  12. Partial password

    Add support for partial passwords.
A lot of bank web pages force to login by asking the user to enter only a few specific characters from their password. It is nightmare to login on such pages with password manager that do not support it, meanwhile it is super important to use strong, random passwords on such pages.

  13. Windows app not compatible with strict WDAC policies due to unsigned tmp.node files

Proton pass desktop app for Windows cannot be used in enterprise managed devices with Windows Defender Application Control set to block unsigned files. This is because the app creates temporary, unsigned, .tmp.node files in %appdata%/Local/Temp which are blocked by WDAG, making the app crash. Apparently, Brave browser also had this issue, see https://github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/12534 .
The idea is to make the app compatible in this scenario, by either signing these files or not generating them at all.

  14. New category: Privacy Policies & TOS & Opt outs

Problem: Keeping track of accepted privacy policies, TOS, and submitted opt-outs across hundreds or thousands of websites is a losing battle.

    Request:
    - I would like to have a way to capture the privacy policies and TOS any time we have to agree to them (signup and updates) and have that history available to refer back to.
    - I would also like to be able to record that I completed a Data Request as well as Opt-out.

  15. Ability to archive passwords (instead of delete)

Add the right click option to "Archive" a password, vs Delete, like in 1Password. Sometimes it's nice to look back at an old logins.

  16. Price, configuration, data inclusion, and half the upgrades should be added to proton

Description: Proton Pass and Proton Authenticator are excellent tools for privacy-conscious users, but the free versions could be even more powerful with a few key improvements. These enhancements would strengthen security, reduce manual work, and improve usability while staying true to Proton’s mission of protecting user privacy.

    Proposed Improvements:

    Free Proton Pass
Add support for unlocking with a PIN or hardware security key for faster, secure access.
Allow reordering of custom fields and better vault organization.
Expand alias integration with SimpleLogin, so disposable emails can be managed directly inside Proton Pass.
Ensure automatic synchronization between web and mobile apps.
    Introduce…

  17. Enable all predefined field types in "other" > "start from scratch"-entries

The "Other" > "Start from scratch" entry type is super useful, but it could be a lot more user friendly if more or preferebly all predefined field types and the respective functionality that comes with them were availabe.

At the moment, only Text, TOTP, Hidden and Date are selectable.

Being able to select the field Password, with the randomizer option as when creating a Login entry, would be a great improvement.

A use case is my non-proton email adresses; I like to have them all gathered in a pinned item called "Emails". I have created one "start from scratch"-entry where…

  18. Many missing features when coming from Dashlane

Please consider this as an all-in-one feature request about what the competition has to offer and you don't.

I am a long-time user of Dashlane and right now I'm evaluating ProtonPass.

    ProtonPass Pros:
Integration with SimpleLogin/Mail aliases and Proton as a parent company. Stylish UI.

    ProtonPass Cons:
macOS AutoFill and Safari Passkeys work well in Dashlane but are absent in ProtonPass.

TOTP auto fill works well in Dashlane, but in ProtonPass it's a buggy feature attempt. Many times it fails to show up, and when it does it's just a popup and requires you to paste (and guess that it's…

  19. Don't automatically add a forward slash when a port number is at the tail of an URL.

I have a login in Proton Pass like example.com:10000, commenly used for Webmin. PP automatically adds a forward slash, which is nice for the webserver you're going to, but not in this case.
