  1. Duress PIN

We often have proton pass extensions and installs in places where Org or School admins may be able to log in and access. While having a PIN set to prevent logins is nice I would like to suggest a Duress PIN. This feature would allow you to set a pin that would immediately log out your extension/app/install from your Proton account and notify you of an attempted unauthorized login. You currently have a 3 fails = logout but this would allow you to know if someone was actively attempting to break into your passwords using more than just guessing.

  2. Old passwords record

A record of old passwords for each entry. This would be helpful in cases where a password change doesn’t successfully update on a website, allowing users to retrieve previous passwords and avoid being locked out.

  3. Require Device Trust to Login

I would like a feature where when enabled it only allows trusted devices to log in. I want it such that any device not on the trust list cannot log into the pass account even with the password and extra password. Basically, lock it down to only approved devices entirely to prevent all unauthorized access from devices I don’t own. I would add a trusted friend’s (or multiple friends) device but without giving him the password as a recovery option for this setup so that if my house burns down or floods or what have you, there is a still…

  4. Add a sort by most used token option in Authenticator

Currently, at least in iOS app, it is possible to sort token alphabetically or by cration/update date.
I have token that use frequently and other very rarely. For the most used token it's annoying to have to scroll or search them every time.
It would be nice to be able to sort them by usage frequency. This could be based on the times a token is copied, or the number of times they appear in a search result.

  5. pass-cli navigation mode

with the launch of the cli i'd love to see a navigation mode where one can run "pass-cli nav" and have it display a folder structure of vaults, then items, then fields that can be edited by using the right arrow key or e key. this would majorly enhance usability and hotkeys can be used for things like search. for a reference, if this ui worked similar to the ncdu command that would be ideal.

this would make cli an effective alternative to the full ui in terminals which would be awesome

  6. Custom list of new account email autofills

Proton Pass will suggest using my Proton email or a new alias when creating a new account somewhere, which is really helpful. However I currently still create new accounts under one of my old emails, so it would be nice if there was a way to customise this list.
The easiest way would be to have a textbox in settings where you can specify an email address for Proton Pass to use for suggestions instead of my Proton address, but in an ideal world it would be great if I could specify a list of addresses to be suggested alongside…

  7. Copying a field should bump that entry to the top of the recent view

Right now, when I sort the entries in the vault by "recent," an entry is only bumped to the top of the list when it was recently autofilled, but sometimes the autofill doesn't work or I choose to copy & paste for whatever other reason, and I would like those to be counted as interactions that would push an entry to the top of the "recent" list.

  9. Web access for Authenticator.

I like to use Proton Authenticator, but there is a major problem for me that forces me to use another service. I often require 2FA in cases where I do not have my phone and I am unable to install applications to the computer. Ideally I would be able to access Proton Authenticator through the web, using my hardware OTP. From there I would be able to access OTP for the rest of my accounts. This issue has forced me to use a different provider for an authenticator, which I hate to do, especially since I already pay for Proton.

  10. Password Reminder

It would be a very useful feature to have a periodic master password reminder, for example every few months, where the user is required to enter the master password in order to avoid forgetting it.

This could be implemented by allowing the user to choose a time interval. Once the interval is reached, access via PIN or biometrics would always be delayed (e.g. by 5 seconds) until the master password has been entered at least once. The delay would continue to apply every time the user unlocks the vault, as long as the master password has not been entered.

    Especially…

  11. Offline email aliases

I think it'd be useful to have a few new email aliases be available for offline use in the app. I'm sometimes in a situation like signing up for a wifi portal where I can't create a new alias because I'm offline so end up repurposing an existing one.

I'm aware it might not be practical as it wouldn't really be possible to support prefixes

  12. Screenshot & Data Masking for Proton Authenticator

Proposal: Enhanced Privacy for Proton Authenticator

We propose a feature to prevent unauthorized data capture of sensitive information within the Proton Authenticator app.

The current state allows third-party apps to capture screenshots, exposing sensitive data like usernames (which often contain email addresses) and other private information.

    Proposed Solutions

    1. Screenshot Prevention Toggle: Introduce an option in settings to disable screenshots while the app is in use.

    2. Username Masking: Implement a default "click to view" functionality for usernames, hiding them from plain sight.

    Justification

These features would align with Proton's core values by significantly enhancing user privacy and security. Implementing these…

  13. Default Cursor Focus in Search Field

When launching the Authenticator, please automatically put the cursor focus in the search field. I believe that’s where most people end up going anyway.

  14. Enable pasting screenshots of TOTP QR codes in the Chrome extension

Some websites only offer QR for setting up 2FA. One could take a screenshot with Win+Shift+S and paste it into the TOTP field in Proton Pass. Chrome has a built-in barcode scanner so it's just a few lines of code. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Barcode_Detection_API

  15. Proton Authenticator Desktop App: MFA Token Sorting

The Proton Authenticator desktop app currently doesn't have the ability to sort MFA tokens at all. This capability is available in the mobile app so curious as to why it's not available in the desktop app. Please add this capability.

  17. Support The Apple Password Manager Resources Standard

Apple is working on Password Manager Resources. A resource to share password rules, the URL for a password change, and combines URLs that support the same login. It is ready to be implemented into password managers today.

    From their own GitHub:

Having password managers collaborate on these resources has three high-level benefits:
By sharing resources, all password managers can improve their quality with less work than it'd take for any individual password manager to achieve the same effect.
By publicly documenting website-specific behaviors, password managers can offer an incentive for websites to use standards or emerging standards to improve their…

  19. OS-wide access to password vault

I would love to see some sort of quick mini Proton Pass window, akin to the browser extension popup, accessible anywhere from macOS. Especially since Proton Pass can hold much more than just logins, it would make sense to see it available for quick access to that data from anywhere in the OS.

  20. pass-cli

Hello I just downloaded pass-cli on the beta channel using the curl command provided at https://protonpass.github.io/pass-cli/get-started/installation/
To be honest I don't have any particular NEED for accessing the cli tool, but figured I would install it because who knows, maybe i'd find some use for it.

Instantly I was met with an issue that frankly I find unacceptable from a company the size of proton... You release a brand new cli tool, and don't include a manpage... I get that the documentation is available online, and pass-cli help/ --help provide a tiny bit of assistance, but come on. I feel…
