  1. Proton Pass Browser Extension: Input password on start browser

I don't like it that, when I start my browser, Proton Pass is immediately 'open' for everyone to use.
Just like other Password Managers, I would like to FIRST need to input my password of my Proton Account to unlock my Proton Pass when I start my browser.

  2. Access tokens for use with Pass CLI in automated use-cases

I would like to use Pass with Pass CLI in automated workflows like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, etc.
Offering access tokens for authentication would allow to revoke access or rotate tokens regularly much easier as it is not necessary to change the primary account's password (which directly breaks all access).

  3. Protonpass + Simplelogin Premium End to End Encryption with Alias

I should be able to use end to end encryption with Protonpass + Simplelogin for alias forwarding. I should be able to enter my Protonmail public key in SimpleLogin and have the email encrypted then forwarded to Protonmail. I can do this using Bitwarden & Addy.io SimpleLogin explicitly disables this PGP option for Proton Mail mailboxes, calling it redundant.

If SimpleLogin permitted and properly implemented user-controlled PGP encryption using your Proton Mail public key before forwarding emails to Proton Mail mailboxes (in the same manner as Addy.io currently does), the integrated Proton Pass + SimpleLogin solution would become the superior…

  4. Proton Pass: set preferred login method (mail/username)

Hi, I've been using proton pass recently. I love being able to add an email-address and a username.

However, when I want to log in to multiple websites, pass will auto-fill the username, when actually only the email can be used. This usually happens when a websites has a login form "Email or Phone number".

My idea would be to set a default "log in with" to either email or username in case you have added both, so that I can set that to mail and thus save me from having to manually edit a login form after auto filling…

  5. Auto-close the navigation menu after clicking an option

When I click on something in the navigation menu, it stays open. I have to click elsewhere in the app to close the menu. I've looked in the settings and can't find an option to auto-close it.

Please make the nav menu auto close after selecting an item (vault, utility, etc.).

  6. Proton Authenticator: Automatic backups when changes are made

In my opinion, an option to automatically create a backup whenever changes are made (similar to Aegis) would be much more useful than the existing time-based backup options.

Unlike a messaging app, an authenticator doesn't receive constant updates. Most users only add or remove an account occasionally. Creating a backup immediately after those changes ensures it's always up to date, while avoiding unnecessary scheduled backups when nothing has changed.

Time-based backups (Daily, Weekly, Monthly) could still remain as an optional feature, but change-triggered backups seem like a more practical default for an authenticator app.

  7. Feature Request: Quick Settings Shortcut + Random Username Generator

Feature Request: Quick Settings Shortcut + Random Username Generator

Hi Proton Pass team and community! 👋

I've been using Proton Pass for a while now and really appreciate the focus on privacy and security. I wanted to submit two feature requests that could make the app even more convenient for daily use:

    1. Quick Settings Shortcut (Android)

It would be great to have a Quick Settings tile for Proton Pass, similar to what Bitwarden offers. This would allow users to:

    • Quickly access the vault
    • Copy credentials faster in situations where speed matters
    • Have a more seamless experience across the system This…

  9. Install pass-cli using a package manager

I tried adding a comment to this existing thread ("Single Linux yum repo for all Proton apps
    ") here, but couldn't: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/945460-general-ideas/suggestions/50536500-single-linux-yum-repo-for-all-proton-apps

Installing pass-cli via a downloaded bash script is not optimal, and feels very insecure. Instead, people on Linux distributions should be able to use their platform's package manager to install it.

For example, it would be great to have a single yum repository for all Fedora-based proton products, so that I could just do "sudo dnf install pass-cli" (to install pass-cli specifically), or "sudo dnf update" to update everything easily. Instead, only proton-vpn has a yum repo, and…

  10. Proton Physical Security Key

I never understood why this is not for sale. Like for real. 100% privacy? this is much needed.

And just to be clear, the title and all are misleading because what i actually want to suggest is a bit more.

Let's say i have a pc, i start Proton VPN, and it works no issue since the physical key is inserted. But then i want to use this on a different device, well all i need to do is unplug it, put it in another pc, open proton apps, and well, i don't need to write my password. Not for…

  11. Allow for fully randomly generated email aliases in proton pass

Currently when you create an alias in proton pass using a custom domain in my instance, by default it creates a 5 random letter/number suffix for example: .g43fs@example.com and it either auto fills the service name at the front: spotify.g43fs@example.com or expects you to enter a prefix.

This makes it easy for services to identify that you are using an alias for custom domains, without having to dig into the DNS records of the domain, which is unlikely anyway.

You can disable the suffix (called prefix) in the settings "Random Prefix Generation" but this leaves you having to randomly generate…

  12. Change suffix of the alias

currently : I want to generate an alias. I click on "create an... + alias". Proton let me set a prefix. but peoton impose a suffix. if I dont want this suffix, I have to abandon + restart the procedure from the begining.
proposal : to add a button "change alias". => proton would generate a new suffix randomly.

  13. Quicker password access for Desktop Apps

I believe having a way for Pass to see open apps and recommend passwords for desktop apps may be beneficial. I'm sure this is very involved, but it would be a drastic improvement to the UI. For example, for me to open Spotify, OpenEvidence, Work applications, and be able to click the tray icon for pass to autofill the account sign in after I select which app I am opening.

This of course would benefit from having a tray icon (as with the VPN) that sits in the notification tray to increase efficiency.

  14. Display character position

Some sites require you to only input certain characters from your password (e.g., 5th, 8th, and 9th characters). It would be good to either have an option to display just the requested characters (like Password safe) or display the position of each character within the password (like 1password).

  15. Allow copying item name

When we open any vault item, we are not able to copy its name. Please allow copying the name of the saved item as it can be useful for some use-cases.

  16. Add a "Device" item type for computers, routers, and other hardware

Proton Pass has item types for logins, cards, identities, notes, and more — but nothing for the hardware those items live on. Right now, device details end up forced into a Note or scattered across a custom item.

The ask: a dedicated Device item type with purpose-built fields, such as:

    • Manufacturer, model, and serial number
    • MAC address(es) — Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth
    • Assigned/static IP address
    • Firmware version + manufacturer support/firmware URL
    • Purchase date and warranty info
    • Linked login item (router admin, device account, etc.)

  17. Fully Customizable Proton Pass Entries

Proton Pass stores more than logins — Notes, Credit Cards, Identities, Custom Items, and more. But no matter the item type, every entry comes pre-loaded with default fields you can't remove and an order you can't change.

The ask, across ALL item types:

    1. Removable defaults — any built-in field can be deleted (or auto-hides when left blank). If an Identity item doesn't need a middle name, or a Custom Item doesn't need a Note, it shouldn't sit there empty forever.
    2. Drag-to-reorder — arrange every field, default and custom alike, in whatever order fits the item.

    The current "workaround" for reordering…

  18. Improve copying of fields in the vault

Allow users to either copy any item (e.g., email, username, password, Websites, custom fields) associated with an entry via a) click to copy as currently implemented or b) clicking a small copy icon next to each field. At the moment, the desktop app does not allow copying certain fields such as URLs, which makes usability difficult for multiple browser setups.

  20. Samsung Wallet Import

Now that Samsung has decided the wallet app is the password keeper, please make a way to import/integrate this data. There are multiple posts that are up to a year old asking for this for Samsung Pass. I am a new customer importing from all of my apps to consolidate and this is one that should be on the list, since there seems to be a way to do it with apple products.
