1. Expanded Vault Organization

   While ProtonPass supports vaults, folders, and subfolders, it lacks intelligent organizational features. Automatic tagging based on categories like "Finance," "Social Media," "Work," or "Shopping" would be helpful. Smart collections that dynamically update based on criteria—such as "All logins not used in the last 30 days" or "All accounts with weak passwords"—would also be extremely useful. A timeline view showing when each login was created, modified, or last used would significantly improve organization.

2. Improving Android/One UI Integration

   To compete with system-integrated solutions like Google Password Manager or Samsung Pass, Proton Pass needs to move beyond being "just an app" and become a deeply integrated system component. I propose the following technical improvements to achieve a seamless, high-performance experience on Android and One UI:

   Full Credential Manager API Optimization: Instead of relying on legacy autofill overlays, Proton Pass should perfectly implement the Android 14+ Credential Manager API. This ensures that login prompts appear as native system bottom sheets. Specifically, the "gray square" icon bug on Samsung devices must be fixed to ensure a professional, native look.

   Accessibility Service as a Reliability Fallback: To reach 100% reliability in apps and browsers where standard APIs fail, Proton should offer an optional Accessibility Service. This acts as a "native-level" observer to detect input fields that are otherwise ignored.

   Samsung Internet Extension: A significant portion of Samsung users stick to the native Samsung Internet browser. A dedicated browser extension (similar to those available for desktop) would provide a level of reliability that standard autofill cannot reach.

   Knox & Secure Enclave Integration: For Samsung users, Proton could leverage the Samsung Knox SDK. Utilizing the device's hardware-backed Keystore/TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) to store the local encryption key would provide a "Titan-chip" level of security, making it as robust as a system-integrated manager while maintaining Proton's privacy standards.

   Direct Keyboard Suggestion Integration: Deepen the integration with Gboard and Samsung Keyboard's suggestion strips. Credentials should be offered directly within the keyboard's UI to minimize friction and eliminate the need for floating overlays.

   Quick Settings Tile for "Force Fill": Implement a native Quick Settings tile. If a field isn't recognized, a user should be able to swipe down and trigger a Proton Pass search overlay instantly, without leaving the current app.

3. Deduplication & Merge Tool for Proton Pass

   Proton Pass currently lacks a native feature to identify and manage duplicate entries, which is a significant pain point for vault hygiene. Especially after importing data from other managers, users often end up with redundant items that must be manually found and deleted. I propose the implementation of a Duplicate Detection tool that scans the vault for identical URLs and usernames. Beyond simple deletion, a "Merge" function is essential to consolidate different notes or historical data from duplicates into a single primary entry. Adding this capability would greatly improve the user experience and help keep the vault organized and clutter-free as the database grows.

   When you import passwords from other password managers and they are in folders, offer to auto create the folders and place the same passwords into said folder(s), so the import is seamless.

6. 2026: Improve the functionality and GUI of the browser extension and the P.Pass web page.

   Please focus your efforts on making the ProtonPass extension and web page more user-friendly and functional! Currently, both products are not at all intuitive and are quite clunky compared to others.

   1) The Firefox extension:

   • If an unlock code has been set (with a 2-minute delay, for example) and you are simultaneously working on the ProtonPass web page, the browser extension will close after those 2 minutes. I believe the extension should remain open for various reasons as long as the web page window is open and not locked.

   • Simplifying the number of displayed elements as much as possible (normal mode, i.e., not enlarged) would be more visually appealing and less disorienting: hiding certain elements (filter, sorting, sharing, hidden information, etc.) and only making them accessible in 'full window' mode.

   • The extension does not offer the option to create automaticaly a website alias when creating a login and the cursor is in the login field. On this point, there is plenty of room to improve usability instead of resorting to the extension.

   • Accessing Proton Pass web requires logging into your Proton account even if a second password has already been set. This adds an extra step and slows down access to the desired information.

   • KeePassXC allows me to personalize my entries by searching for the website icon. Proton passes a parameter for this, but apparently the database doesn't have enough resources. Better identification of entries makes life easier.

   It would be good to have an element in the hamburger to provide feedback.

   2) The Proton Pass web page:

   • The organization of the left-hand side is not intuitive when you have multiple vaults: the display of vaults is confused with the bottom left section (you have to scroll to reach the last vaults).

   • When a color has been defined for a vault, the central column displaying passwords should apply that color.

   • The bottom left section should only use icons to indicate lock status, access the application, settings, and Pass Monitor... because it is impossible to reduce the size of this area.

   • What is the purpose of differentiating an alias from its password element? This makes password management more confusing and prone to errors (personal experience).The two should be merged.

   • Importing encrypted GPG passwords doesn't work whether the "include files" option is enabled or not.

   In short, I'm reporting back to a paying Proton customer who frequently uses Proton Pass and whose experience is more than mixed (thank you, KeePassXC, for addressing Proton Pass's weaknesses).

   I already know that some of my examples have been requested by the community, but others haven't, and in my opinion, they are just as important to my user experience.

   Hoping that this new year will be a year of rapid improvements (both functional and cosmetic) to Proton products for its customers, I wish you a happy and prosperous 2026!

7. iOS - allow copy of fields during autofill

   When creating an account on certain websites and apps, the "confirm password" field does not get auto-filled. It would be useful to be able to select/copy certain fields within the password record whilst in the autofill window.

8. Alias contact list usability

   It would be useful to have some kind of address book for the contacts created under aliases in Proton Pass. When using aliases, it’s easy to add dozens of contacts, but it becomes difficult to find them later in the unorganized list when you want to send a message using an alias as the sender.

10. Allow new sections in login elements

    In the basic login item you cannot add new sections, like in custom elements. Allow Section to be created inside a login element. The custom element doesnt provide that suport, since its not capable of saving a url nor viable to auto-completion.

13. Support autofill on more sites

    Before switching to Proton Pass, I used Bitwarden, and it was extraordinarily rare to find a login form that it couldn't autofill (and on the rare occasions it did happen, it seemed like the site itself was actively preventing autofill). But with Proton Pass, it feels as if around a quarter to a third of forms I try cannot be autofilled -- the Proton Pass button doesn't appear inside the input. The reason for this isn't clear; all of these forms have looked standard, and the input elements seemed to have the expected attributes.

    This lack of autofill support for certain sites is far and away the biggest problem with Proton Pass for me, and it would massively improve my experience if Proton Pass could be improved in this area.

    Below are the sites I have most recently noticed Proton Pass cannot autofill. I will update this post as I discover more.

    To identify sites where Proton Pass has issues, it would be useful if the browser extension included “report site” feature where users can submit reports for sites where autofill doesn't work or where another issue has occurred. This would make it easier to gather data and fill in the gaps in autofill support.

14. Make the AutoFill Window on IOS more Useful

    Improve the autofill window on IOS with editing option for every entry

    When you open the autofill window on IOS using 1Password you can from there edit any credential from the autofill window directly like email or password etc.this is critical and is the reason i haven't switched from 1Password to Proton Pass since its annoying to open the app when i just want to change the Password i generated because the website doesn't accept the length of the password in 1Password i can just open the Autofill Window regenerate a Password save it and autofill it all from there in Proton i would need to go to the app and change it there if this is added i would truly switch to proton but i still think you can improve the autofill window 1Passwords is much better than protons

15. See the previous passwords that were saved

    I was making a new password for one of my accounts and for that account i used the randomly generated proton pass password and when i wanted to change the password to that account i put another randomly generated password and then updated the login to be that password but sadly the website asked for the previous password and so i no longer have acess to that account since that previous password was overwritten

    On the mobile app, you have the option to log in using Face ID or a PIN code, but not the master password. It would be helpful to have the option to log in with the master password as well.

20. Add Camera feature to scan QR for Passkey logins Inside Protonpass (Mobile & Desktop)

    Lately sites like Google and Amazon have been forcing me to scan a QR code to log in using passkey, which i found the following issues:

    1. On desktop, protonpass extention used to pop up to select the passkey, but lately when the site forces you to scan the QR code to use another device (such as a smartphone)

    2. On my Android smartphone, when I scan the QR code, it says I don't have a passkey, this is because it's looking in my Google & Samsung Pass, even though I've selected Protonpass for Autofill & Passkeys. The only solution for me is to go to Settings > (Passwords, passkeys, and autofill) then select None then Protonpass (after I unlock it)

    The suggested solution:
    Add a Camera scan button inside the App (on both Mobile & Desktop) so the user is able to Scan the QR Code just by opening the app, and then selecting the passkey.
