Sync alias between SimpleLogin and Proton Pass
I have many aliases that I manage with SimpleLogin, it would be great for both services to be integrated. When making an SimpleLogin Alia’s it is added on Proton Pass and vice versa.
You can now sync aliases between Proton Pass and SimpleLogin. This feature is rolling out now and will be available for everyone soon.
What's next? Soon you’ll be able to:
✨ manage custom domains and additional mailboxes
✨ send emails directly from an alias in Proton Pass
Here's how it works:
- Tap the 'sync aliases' button in Proton Pass
- Choose which vault to sync aliases to
- Aliases will continue to sync, and disabled aliases will be reflected in Proton Pass and SimpleLogin.

I wish this topic would get more attention. I have now been forced to keep Proton Pass while I don’t use it and do not plan to use it. Not unless this feature is available. I have been a very happy Proton and SimpleLogin user, but ever since I installed Proton pass and imported aliases, not understanding that I was creating a irreversible sync, I have been stuck with this app. This is unacceptable really. Users should always have a choice to opt out

I "imported" my aliases from SimpleLogin to ProtonPass. I didn't like it, so I deleted all the so called "imported" aliases from ProtonPass.
Turns out, that deleted them all from SimpleLogin!
So, I ended up having to recreate every one of my aliases on SimpleLogin.
Surprise! Now the aliases are back in ProtonPass again. Apparently there is no way out of this.

I could not agree more! I never even understood that I was enabling sync between the two. The suggestion was that I could import aliases. Now it turns out I cannot undo this. This is crazy! If I ever decide to use another password app all my aliases are gone? I am shocked this is working like this to be honest.

Simple login users can link alias into proton pass.
But the catch is that deleted alias from pass deletes Simplelogin alias too.
This forces the user to use proton pass, since if user decides to unsubscribe from Pass or Protonmail, there is a possibility of losing alias.
Building an privacy ecosystem is okay for ease. But there should be an option to opt-out
We would prefer an option to be able to unsync the alias. This can lead to loss of alias. -

Proton Pass seems to be replacing SL for those who want it for managing aliases...
Would be nice if there was a tool which allowed users to migrate all their SimpleLogin notes (which are only encrypted at rest) to the Proton Pass notes field which uses zero knowledge encryption.

I tried syncing the existing aliases by going through the suggested process and despite finding 500+ aliases the process terminated importing exactly f***-all entries.

Thanks for implementing this feature.
But I think there's still a bug present:
"Enable SimpleLogin sync:
We detected that you have 321 aliases that are present in SimpleLogin ..."I don't have that many aliases in SimpleLogin.

When syncing aliases from SimpleLogin to Proton Pass, disabled aliases appear as enabled in Proton Pass. The toggle switch in Proton Pass works correctly—if I enable and then disable an alias, the status updates properly in both Proton Pass and SimpleLogin. However, the initial state of disabled aliases doesn't sync correctly.
Disabled aliases in SimpleLogin should sync to Proton Pass as disabled, maintaining their correct status.

Sounds good, but just to confirm... are we limited to syncing with only one vault? What if we have tons of existing aliases across multiple vaults? Thanks.

It would be great to be able to manage reverse alias contacts from Proton Pass instead of having to go to SimpleLogin

I have a custom domain for ProtonMail and would like to use it to create my own aliases in Proton Pass.
I do not want to configure another service (SimpleLogin) for this purpose ! -

Replace the "Alias" functionality in Proton Pass by SimpleLogin. That's it.

Do we have any ETA on when this planned feature will be released?

If you setup your own domain and configure SimpleLogin to use it, and then go into Proton Pass and create an alias, it does then create it in SimpleLogin already. However if you add a comment when creating the alias, that stays in Proton Pass and not reflected in SimpleLogin. It just states 'Created with Proton Pass' when you go look at the alias in SimpleLogin. Editing the comment in one should update the comment in the other, at a basic level. And for those who already had SimpleLogin with aliases, who then come to use Proton Pass should be able to have those aliases come into Proton Pass so they can see them and manage them there also. Looks like there are plans afoot for more integration though so fingers crossed.

It is confusing to have both SimpleLogin and Proton Pass with their separate browser extensions jumping forward at different web pages and different situations, I want only Proton Pass to keep things simple so it would be great if could merge SimpleLogin into ProtonPass or to be able import aliases and passwords from SimpleLogin into ProtonPass. "Connecting" SimpleLogin and Proton Pass stlll presents me with two different accounts to check and does not help to keep things simple.

It is easy: just bring the full simplelogin inside proton pass. That's it. This would simplify everything for users of both and also would get rid of the "aliases" together with the logins and put them in a separate, dedicated management tab for aliases.
But of course also keep simplelogin for people not using proton pass.

Moreover, it would be appropriate to synchronize the "Alias description" field in SimpleLogin with the "Notes" field in Proton Pass.

I really want to migrate to protonpass entirely, but have 300+ aliases in SL i want to move.

Exporting Proton Pass includes aliases, removing vault and importing does not restore aliases. Yet SimpleLogin is listing the aliases. So this should be improved.
