Standalone Password Generator
i wish for a password generator that is not complicated to access just like in Bitwarden.
You could put the Password Generator under the Sync button for example

I agree — I came here to post the exact same request. I run a small business and manage my own tech infrastructure, and having a quick, easy-access password generator inside Proton Pass would be a huge quality-of-life improvement.
At the moment I still use KeePass strictly for generating passwords, but Proton Pass is where I actually store everything. It would be great to consolidate that workflow.
Proton is in a unique position right now. They’ve earned real trust from their users when it comes to protecting PII and handling sensitive data. That’s rare in this market.
Proton Pass is solid, but it could use a little more attention to make it truly robust. Adding this feature would be a meaningful step forward.

Dear ProtonPass Team,
Currently, ProtonPass does not allow users to view previous passwords for a saved login entry. This creates issues when updating passwords, especially if the process fails and the old password is lost.
For example, if a password is changed using the "Generate Password" feature but the update fails on the website, the previous password is overwritten with no way to recover it. Other password managers, like Bitwarden, offer a password history feature to prevent such problems.
Please consider adding this functionality in a future update.

There is a history in the generator, but on the browser extension, but not in the iOS app.
It should be there too and sync between the devices. -

We strongly urge the implementation of a 'Password History' feature in mobile applications, especially in password management tools like Proton Pass. This functionality is not merely a convenience but an essential tool for users who rely on such apps to maintain strong, unique, and secure passwords. Without a history feature, users face significant challenges in tracking or referencing previously generated passwords, which can lead to confusion, security risks, or even account lockouts. A 'Password History' option would greatly enhance both usability and security, empowering users to manage their credentials more effectively. Given its critical role in modern password management, this feature should be prioritized in future updates to ensure a seamless and secure user experience.

I autofilled a password in the password field. It applied and changed the password but the alias information did not get changed. Why the autofilled passwords are not stored in Generated Password history automatically.
Sometimes it fails to Click Yes to update and hence the entire thing is lost in dust.

It will be great to add a history menu in the password generator.
Bitwarden has the same and it would great if PP has the same. -

As in right now if I want to create a strong new password I have to go to Proton Pass password generator web app to create one and I cannot do this on the windows or iOS app.

I came from 1Password as well, and while I agree this would be convenient, it never bothered me to simply begin creating the account first in the password manager, copy the password over to sign up page for the new account, and then just save it once I'd finished. A pop-out window would be cool, but I doesn't make the top ten for me. (Never used the history feature. Not sure why / how I would.)

Yes please add a password generator with history.. So if we create for some random reason it will save in history for reference. (moved from 1Password which has this and needed).

I agree. I switched from Nord pass, and it has a password generator button on the left side of the UI with other tools. A separate button for it is required because sometimes we register to some things over a Windows app and we need to generate a password for to register and add that registration to Proton pass manually later.

I agree to the request. I would add that a passphrase with a selectable length and character type would also be convenient. Basically, the web page , https://proton.me/pass/password-generator , should be intaegrated in the extension

If I change the password, Proton Pass could check the history of saved passwords (all) and if I wanted to change the password to a password from the history or if it was percentageally similar (the match can be set by the user) to some historical password, it could give it to me right away when creating this password information about it.
