Permanent FREE Virtual Phone Number.
Please Integrate a Permanent FREE Virtual Phone Number, so that we can hide our real phone number to hackers and scammers. Many countries have SIM Card Registration System and it's very hard to go through the process of replacing or registering a hacked registered SIM Card.

A permanent free virtual phone number feature would be a useful privacy tool, allowing users to mask their real numbers and reduce exposure to hackers, scammers, and unwanted contacts, especially in regions with strict SIM registration systems where recovering a compromised number can be difficult and time-consuming; such a system could act as a secure forwarding layer for calls and messages, improving safety and convenience for users who prioritize digital privacy. In some cases, telecom-related services or SIM-based solutions like http://www.tmsim.ph are referenced as examples of how virtual or alternative numbering systems are being explored, but any implementation of free virtual numbers should focus on strong security, verification controls, and compliance with local regulations to ensure safe and responsible use.

Even if it is not permanent, it would be very nice if it was like email alias (even if it's an extra paid feature).

Would pay more for this as next step in protecting us and those around the world. Saying this as a paying customer now also. Go Proton!

Even just for paid users would be great!

I definitely agree with this, although I do not think it would need to be part of the free service.

Exactly. This would be the hide-my-email feature of Proton Pass except for phone numbers. Users would be able to select hide-my-phone and a phone number would be generated for the account. All communication to that number, texts, calls, etc., would be forwarded to the users real phone number. The exact same concept as hide-my-email for phone numbers. This way, if users get too many spam texts or calls to a hide-my-phone alias they can simply turn off that alias and BOOM, no more spam.

I hope that it's "As Soon As Possible" or "AKA" thing or urgent in other word. Because hackers and scammers are upgrading their tools and skills too.
