Keyboard shortcuts
Authy's desktop app is (was) handy in that I could switch to the app and start typing, without using the mouse, to pull up the account for which I need(ed) a TOTP code. With Proton Pass, I have to click in the search bar before typing to search. It would be appreciated and convenient if there were a keyboard shortcut to jump to the search bar in the Proton Pass desktop app.
Additionally, it would be beneficial if there were keyboard shortcuts to jump to different fields of the desktop app and to copy or edit them, without having to use the mouse. Currently the only option for such is to repeatedly mash Tab.
Thank you, Proton, for your hard work!
This feature is a work in progress.

after waiting for a year i'm switching back to bitwarden because of No autofill shortcut and No biomatric unlock on browser extention. I'm even switching from ProtonVPN. they can't even fix simple auto connect fix since months.

This is literally the only reason I don't use Proton Pass.

Yeah, for anyone who is used to the convenience of keyboard shortcut auto-fills this feature is a deal breaker. Especially if the user fundamentally prefers keyboard input rather than using a mouse. In some cases I even have to copy my password from Proton Pass to my clipboard to paste in - that just feels so unsafe. Critical feature.

How is this not added yet?? Submitted a refund request and am going back to Bitwarden over this critical feature.

This is also a basic requirement when working with system passwords or SSH key passphrases.
It's inconvenient to have to use your mouse hand just to select and copy some entry that you're going to use in an entirely keyboard-based workflow (e.g. in a terminal).
Especially because, as others have mentioned, Bitwarden, KeePassXC, 1Password etc. have this feature.

What I've done as a "hack", is remove proton-pass desktop app. Install the web site as a PWA (progressive web app), which allows me to use the Vimium browser extension to navigate and click fields using my keyboard. If it's helpful to anyone.
I do agree that these are features that are missing and critical to compete with other password managers. IMO.

This could also be implemented by using existing launchers like Alfred or Raycast; bitwarden is implemented into raycast as an extension by connecting to its CLI. If we got a CLI, many problems could be solved at once.

All of your desktop apps (including the one for Proton Pass) are very difficult to navigate and use by keyboard alone (a requirement for many that are significantly visually impaired along with others that rely on screen readers to use computers). Looks like these apps are Electron based. You can find directions on how to create shortcuts https://www.electronjs.org/docs/latest/tutorial/keyboard-shortcuts.

Will this ever be added? I am trying to switch over from Bitwarden after pulling the trigger on Proton Unlimited during a sale. I absolutely love most of was PP is doing, but the lack of a manual autofill hotkey is DRIVING ME CRAZY! I cannot cancel / leave Bitwarden until this functionality is finished.
In comparison to many of the other requests, it seems like this one would be a really easy win for y'all. Not to mention, that the Proton subreddit is packed with people asking for it!

I do as much as I can with the keyboard and I've been used to choose Credentials on Input Fields by clicking key down. This shows the auto complete of my Browser. I'd expect to also be able to choose Proton Pass Credentials on Login fields!

Global shortcuts would be great. But I'll settle for desktop app shortcuts for quick search etc.
While proton app is focused cmd/ctrl + p generates a password, cmd/ctrl + l a login, cmd/ctrl focuses search, etc.
Giving the option to enable a global search or opens the app and focuses the search.

+1 for this.
This combined with the inability to disable the counter badge on the extension icon makes ProtonPass a no-go for me, no matter how much I'd prefer it to Bitwarden these days. -

Effortless autofill and short cuts are a necessity. I can't believe this isn't implemented yet. I would like to use proton pass, but I'm not switching from your competitors until it's implemented. It's too much work to use your application without it.

I just switched to Proton. I am very surprised that I can't navigate in the app using my keyboard. For example:
- when I select an item and press up and down arrows: this scrolls in the list but it doesn't select the previous or next item.
- I should be able to copy an item's email/username or password with a key combination. However, the search shortcut works unlike what Rachel initially said.
Thanks

I totally second this. I spend so much time and it is so annoying to have to move the mouse around all the time!

I think it's ridiculous that Proton Pass doesn't have an autofill shortcut. That must have been one of the first features implemented, however, it's been ignored for more than two years. I also work in software development, and honestly, this single issue is making me think that maybe Proton is not as innovative as it seems.

This is an absolute must if ProtonPass wants to compete with other password managers. How is this not implemented yet?
