Proper macOS autofill support
I'm a longtime 1Password user who just migrated to Proton Pass and am already starting to rethink my decision.
I noticed that the Proton Pass Mac app doesn't actually support autofill and passkeys like 1Password does. You guys figured this out on iOS, please fix this on macOS (see screenshots below).

Additionally, the lack of support for passkeys, oauth, file and image attachment support is pretty disappointing.
Please fix this so I don't need to migrate back to 1Password 🙏

The current "auto-type" workaround doesn't address the core gap: Proton Pass doesn't appear in System Settings > General > AutoFill & Passwords, meaning no native app autofill outside browsers.
This is a regression. The iPad app on Apple Silicon Macs previously supported native
macOS autofill. The new "native" macOS app removed this capability. That's backwards. Apple's Credential Provider Extension API has existed since 2018. Proton Pass already implements this on iOS -- the macOS version shares the same architecture. Competitors like 1Password and Bitwarden have supported native macOS autofill for years. When users "spend good money on an app like this," native platform autofill is standard. The lack forces Safari profile workarounds, and continued reliance on other vault apps.
Please prioritize Credential Provider Extension integration over workarounds. The API exists, your team has the iOS implementation, and users are actively migrating back to competitors over this gap

I can't believe this still isn't a thing... If Proton can do it on iOS and iPadOS, macOS shouldn't be an issue...

This is absolutely needed. You have it on iOS, why not on macOS?

This is absolutely critical. Its insane to spend good money on an app like this that does not have fully autofill function in macos. Please fix!!!

I chose ProtonPass as my new password manager (and paid for annual subscription). I'm currently wondering if I made a wrong choice due to lack convenient autofill.

I'm using profiles in Safari. Without native autofill support I have to set the settings for every profile. Also TouchID support is missing with the extension. So a native support would be great to use Proton Pass. Currently I will continue using my other vault app.

Yes, this is super critical! I wonder if it is possible to just run the iOS app on macOS? has anyone tried?

Like many others I had hoped to replace 1Password with Proton Pass but the lack of native MacOS support is embarrassing.

It's 2026 and still no proper integration with macOS.
I just bought the plus plan, thinking that it looks like a good place to migrate from 1Password, only to realise that I can't autofill in any app apart from a browser.. 2026! -

Please add native macOS system-wide AutoFill support instead of relying on the clunky browser extension. In the meantime, at least allow us to install the iPad app on Apple Silicon Macs so that we can utilise native AutoFill.

Really disappointing to see this not properly integrated when I switched from windows to mac. Really doesn't inspire me to renew my subscription

Hi, your cleanshot screenshot links seem to be expired.
But, I DO AGREE with what you mention. Proton needs a proper NATIVE AUTOFILL for MacOS.
What we want is that, we should be able to select Proton Pass as the source for autofill in settings of MacOS.
Why is this important?
We need native autofill, so that we can simply do a secondary click (or mouse right click) on anywhere,, select autofill and fill from Proton Pass. No need to rely on Chrome or Safari add-on, and we can even autofill in other apps. e.g. when logging in on the Microsoft Word app.
