Emergency Access feature (Digital Legacy)
It would be fantastic if Proton Pass introduced an emergency access or digital legacy feature to allow secure and private data to be accessed by trusted individuals in critical situations.
In my opinion, the way Bitwarden's Emergency Access feature works is excellent and could serve as a great model for this functionality.
I assume this feature may already be in development (as indicated in the roadmap), but I’m submitting this request so the community can vote on it and express interest.
Roadmap: "Give family or friends emergency access to your vaults. In the event that you’re not able to access Proton Pass or someone else needs to access your account, you’ll be able to grant emergency access to a specific, designated user. This can be helpful in an emergency situation where a loved one or friend needs access to the information you’ve stored in your Proton Pass account."

My biggest difficult with this is the people I would want to give Emergency Access does not have a Proton account, and I am not going to force them to get a proton email in order to use the feature. Are you possibly working on way to allow it to be accessed when they do not have a proton account. That in my opinion seems like an oversight. I have a hard time convincing my immediate family to switch platforms. I am guessing I am not the only one.

That’s a really thoughtful suggestion. An emergency access option would add important peace of mind, especially for families managing sensitive accounts. Using Bitwarden’s approach as a reference makes sense, it balances security with accessibility. I’d definitely support seeing this prioritized on Proton Pass’s roadmap.

Since Proton Pass is already getting an emergency access feature, I would like to see there to be an option for it in Authenticator as well. I don't think any authenticator app currently supports it. Even if it would make the Authenticator less secure overall, it would still be a welcome addition for who want to use it.
