1. Enable Auto-Lock by Default

   When a user signs out or gets signed out of Proton Pass, any auto-lock set by the user is disabled. Please enable auto-lock by default for some interval considerable less than infinity (say 10 minutes) or make the auto-lock interval set by the user persist through sign-outs.
   My confidence in Proton Pass was shaken when I became aware that the timeout I had set on my vault had mysteriously disappeared. It helps, but only a little, to find that it happened according to policy.
   This request is closely related to a request entitled "Don't void the PIN configuration after logout!", but I want to direct focus to this problem of the vanishing auto-lock interval. The PIN is convenience; the auto-lock is security.

2. Generalize entries to allow new Sections, longform Notes, and filtering for all entry types

   "Other" entries (including "Start from scratch" as well as premades such as "API Credential", "Medical Record", "Passport", etc.) are fully customizable by allowing new Sections, Fields, and a longform Note field. This is great! My requests are to (1) make the other "non-Other" entry types equally flexible and unify the implementation of all entry types, and (2) make custom entries first-class along with the traditional legacy entry types.

   Specific issues:

   1. "Login", "Card", and "Note" entries don't allow new Sections.

   2. "Identity" entries don't include a longform Note field. (It's possible to replicate a Note field by adding a Text field to a Section, but raditional Note fields aren't associated with a Section, or perhaps it's attached to an unnamed section (which users aren't allowed to create).

   3. "Other" custom entries all use the same crescent-wrench icon, rather than the icons presented when they're created via +Create item > Other. For example, if I create a Bank Account entry, the option originally shows an icon of a bank, but it's then replaced by a generic icon of a wrench.

   4. The list of entries can be filtered by "Logins", "Aliases", "Cards", "Notes", and "Identities", but not the other entry types such as "API Credential", "Software license", "WiFi network", "Bank Account", "Membership", "Reward Program", etc.

   My specific feature requests:

   1. Allow new Sections to be added to "Login", "Card", and "Note" entries. Probably every one of my entries in 1Password includes custom Sections because it enables me to cleanly organize additional information and not get them mixed up: security phrases, account decovery details, phone numbers, secondary usernames/passwords if the account has other login options such as ssh, smtp, etc., and so forth.

   2. Add a longform Note field to the Identity entry type. I use this to add all sorts of details like place of birth, family, medical, citizenship, ... any longform details. All other entry types include a longform Note field, it's odd that Identify is the only entry type that's missing it, and it's super-useful.

   3. Use the icons presented in +Create entry > Other, rather than a generic wrench icon.

   4. For extra credit, it'd be great if you allowed the user to create their own new "Other" templates, along with it's own custom icon. This isn't a critical feature, I've never needed this in 1Password since they already include every entry type I need, but if you did this, it would be a step above and beyond what 1Password supports.

   5. Allow filtering by all entry types, including "API Credential", "Software license", "WiFi network", "Bank Account", "Membership", "Reward Program", etc. In other words, convert each of the pre-defined "Other" templates first-class entry types that support the same features as "Login", "Card", "Note", and "Identity".

   Generalizing your implementation to treat all entry types as first-class not only makes Proton Pass more flexible and powerful but hopefully also simplifies your code base by eliminating one-off differences that may be coded into your different entry types. This flexibility is extremely useful and very much missed when transitionning from 1Password to Proton Pass.

3. Search results should show count for results from other vaults

   Way too often, I will search for a password, only to end up with no results, or otherwise feel like my passwords are missing. This creates panic, but the real issue is I had a vault selected (which wasn't the vault containing the item I was looking for). I've talked to other users and they have also experienced this.

   I see this as an easy fix: at the bottom of the search results, it should say something like "and ## additional items in other vaults. [search all items]"

   I've experienced this on mobile (android), desktop (mac), and browser (chrome).

4. Stop using IT Jargon

   Stop using software geek jargon. Or at least, put an informational pop-up next to it to explain WTF the word means!

   This is Proton's biggest problem. Not all of us are steeped in IT techno-babble to understand each feature's function.

   Ex: "API Credential", "SSH Key", "Host/Port"... Ugh. Why do I need to do a google search every time I try to learn to use your apps!?

   And while I'm at it: Do a better job at writing user manuals.

   Yes, a written manual. Not a YouTube video!

   Privacy shouldn't be this difficult.

5. Persistent preference/theme settings

   Having to re-enter display appearance theme, unlock and password order preferences, etc. every time you log in or reboot is frustrating and unproductive.

6. Disable tray icon on Linux clients

   Critically helpful if the tray icon could be disabled or hidden, so that when we close Proton Pass, the process terminates properly. This is especially important for the Linux client, where we often work with limited resources and need efficient process management. Currently, tray icon on Debian creates all sorts of issues like duplicate processes and tray icon staying active despite using Exit menu item.

8. Misleading UI: Password field mimics PIN entry

   I noticed some UX friction while setting up a PIN for the Pass app. The initial screen requires an account password for authentication, but the UI is styled to look like a PIN entry field. This leads to confusion, as users may mistakenly try to set their new PIN here instead of verifying their identity. I’d suggest making the distinction between 'Password Verification' and 'PIN Creation' more visually clear.

   Also, PIN and Password inputs are different I know that, but user does not see the PIN input at first so cannot distinct them.

9. Move Filter Options to the Main Vault List (Home Tab)

   The Problem:
   Currently, the core functionality to filter vault items (by Logins, Aliases, Notes, etc.) is buried inside the Profile/Settings tab. This placement completely breaks the natural user flow. When looking at the main vault list and trying to quickly find a specific item type, having to switch tabs back and forth just to apply a filter is counterintuitive and unnecessarily time-consuming.

   The Solution:
   Please move the filter options directly to the main list view (the first tab).

   Why it matters:
   Improved UX: Users expect filtering to happen on the same screen where the list is displayed.
   Faster access on mobile: Especially on Android and iOS, reducing the number of taps needed to find an alias or a note on the go makes the app significantly more efficient for daily use.

10. Make Authenticator Macbook Pro Friendly

    I've been trying all day to download Authenticator to my Macbook pro and it keeps directing me to the app store, no matter which route I take. The option to download it from online redirects to the app store, even though it is not available for download.

11. Copy „Send Email“ address instead of immediately creating a new email

    Currently, when you want to create a new email to send to a contact on iOS, tapping „Send email“ immediately opens a new email, which is mostly fine. However when you need to create an email from inside another app e.g. to write their support, you need a way to paste the „Send Email“ address.
    That’s why I would love having a „Copy Send Email address“ menu entry similar to the already existing „“Copy forwarding address“

12. Feature Request: Option to disable screen capture protection in Proton Authenticator

    From my understanding with the help of AI it seems like the desktop app currently applies WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE to its windows, which causes NVIDIA Shadowplay's Desktop Capture mode to shut itself off entirely whenever Proton Authenticator is open not just black out the window, but refuse to record at all.

    This is mild infuriating if I wanna get a clip of something said in a discord with my homies or browsing the web and not being able to desktop capture on NVIDIA Broadcast.

    A "Disable screen capture protection" toggle in Settings would let users opt out of this behaviour.

    This would be useful for streamers and anyone who records their desktop regularly.

13. Ability to Limit Access to Specific Vaults for Emergency Contacts

    I'm so happy that Proton introduced the Emergency Access feature!

    Instead of allowing an emergency contact complete access to the entire account, I'd like to limit the emergency contact's access to perhaps specific vaults within Proton Pass. This way, my entire email history, etc. will still be protected, but if I wish to share that information, the credentials will be stored in the Vault that will be shared with the emergency contact if deemed necessary by me, the end user.

    Allowing emergency contacts access to just what would be needed in an emergency situation, instead of everything by default, would be more secure and a great improvement!

    When signing up to a new Website, I get only my protonmail suggested. Please add the feature to add other Mailadresses there as I do not use Protonmail as my mail address

15. Missing TOTP link when switching between multiple accounts on the same domain

    I have several accounts on cetain sites that all have TOTP (2FA) enabled. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I select one of the accounts from the Proton Pass menu on the website, the TOTP code for that specific account isn't triggered/displayed in the top right corner; instead, nothing shows up. I would really appreciate it if there was a direct link between the account I choose in the menu and the TOTP display.

16. Copy non-forwarding addresses in app

    In the app, we can copy forwarding addresses in contacts for aliases. But we don’t have the ability to copy non-forwarding addresses. Please make it possible for us.

17. Unlock with biometrics AND pin code on mobile

    Add an option to unlock with biometrics AND pin code on mobile so shoulder surfers will not be able to login and if i'm asleep/drunk nobody can use my finger to open Proton Pass.

19. Add Website control to tab sequence

    Add Websites to tab sequence. Presently when tabbing through an open entry, tab skips over the Websites control. The only way to interact with the website control is through a mouse click. We should be able to tab to this control and press Enter just as we do with Email, Username, and Password.

    See also keyboard shortcuts for every control on an entry. That is vital as well. But unless/until/and-even-after that is taken care of, having Websites in the tab sequence is important.

20. Add website url feature

    I like to store URL's in Pass for various websites I visit. However I have to create a login and add the website in this text box for it to Hyperlink to that website.

    If I just create a note then it pastes it as a text and not a LINK. Please ADD a feature where LINKS can be inserted, so when CLICKED on they take you to that LINK. Many thanks DK
