Apps, web apps, and extensions auto-lock and can be unlocked with a security key
Similar ideas have already been suggested, but this idea is to combine those and add the use of a security key across all apps - with Proton Pass being highest priority. Namely:
-Proton Pass (in all forms) should have configurable auto-lock timers and options for auto-lock on browser closure, app closure, computer sleep, lock, logoff, shutdown, etc
-all Proton products (in all forms) should have the above
-locked products should be unlockable with a security key (with Proton Pass as priority), but should not require password AND security key to unlockI want all Proton products to have the auto-lock…

Proton Authenticator should support signing in to a Proton account for backups
Why doesn’t Proton Authenticator allow signing in to a Proton account so that backups are stored in my account? Please add this.
Because of this limitation, I don’t want to switch to Proton Authenticator. It honestly feels like 2005, when you had to export data manually. Cloud backups tied to my Proton account should be a basic feature.

Enhanced Search with Field-Specific Queries and Filters
As my vault currently contains nearly 1,000 items with Aliases (after moving from Bitwarden), finding specific entries quickly has become challenging. A more powerful, structured search syntax would significantly improve efficiency for all users with large vaults.
I propose implementing advanced search capabilities that allow querying specific fields and filtering by item properties.
- Field-Specific Search Allow users to target a search term to a specific field. The syntax could look like this:
title:live (to find all items with "live" in the title)
username:admin (to find all logins with "admin" as the username)
notes:"secret question" (to find items containing this exact…14 votes -
Proton Pass integration with External Secrets Operator
Proton Pass is a great candidate, similar to 1Pass, for a supported provider inside the Kubernetes External Secret Operator. This could be done via calls out to the cli directly if necessary, but direct API calls would likely be more scalable if capable.

Vault description
Would be great to have a long text field per vault to add a description / use case of the vault.

Device Trust Limitation
I have Proton Pass on both my Android phone and my Linux laptop, but because of the security defects of Linux, I don't want to give the same levels of trust to both platforms. I would like a way for one trusted device to be able to enforce limitations in what other devices can access, such as allowing one-time access to use passkeys (ideally doing the actual cryptography only on the trusted client), one-time access to pull a certain password, or permanent access to specific credentials.
Currently, to accomplish something like this, I use one paid account (on Android) and…

Estate Planning and Password Managers
Let’s face it: in most households, one person ends up being the "techie"—they manage all the online accounts, pay the bills, set up the gadgets, and keep track of passwords. Meanwhile, the other person might have no idea what’s what—until something happens and they’re left to figure it all out.
It’s not just about passwords—it’s about being able to keep the lights on, find out where the mortgage is, and know what subscriptions to cancel.
What you need to figure out ASAP:
- Which bank has the mortgage?
- Is the car insurance bundled with something else?
- What bills…9 votes -
Password Reminder
It would be a very useful feature to have a periodic master password reminder, for example every few months, where the user is required to enter the master password in order to avoid forgetting it.
This could be implemented by allowing the user to choose a time interval. Once the interval is reached, access via PIN or biometrics would always be delayed (e.g. by 5 seconds) until the master password has been entered at least once. The delay would continue to apply every time the user unlocks the vault, as long as the master password has not been entered.
Especially…

Option to hide password count for the certain website
Option to hide the amount number of saved entries for a website.
Now there is always a sign of the number of entries on all websites even after login. For example using Safari on MacOS you'll see the how many entries you've saved for all the websites before and after logging in.

Add mobile confirmation unlock (biometric) for proton pass for all platforms
Title: Add Mobile Confirmation Unlock for Proton Pass on All Platforms
Suggestion:
It would be great if Proton Pass could be unlocked on Linux, macOS, Windows, and mobile devices not only with a PIN code, but also through a confirmation request sent to the user’s mobile phone.
This feature would add an extra layer of security by allowing users to confirm unlock attempts directly from their trusted device, similar to how some services use push-based authentication.Je8 votes -
Proton Pass: choose autocompletion with username or email based on url/website
I have an item with email and username. The item is asociated to several urls (several applications in the same organization). Some urls require login with email, in others is the login with username which is mandatory.
In the item properties, it would be nice to define to which urls apply the username or the email on the autocompletion. At least show the two options in the popup for autocompletion.39 votes -
Allow importing kdbx files
kdbx is a popular open source format that also preserves passkey data. This should be allowed as an import option because converting to xml Proton Pass does not import the passkey data correctly and none of my passkeys actual work. I need to regenerate each one in proton pass. :(

Authenticator: view modes
I use Aegis as my authenticator app. I'd like to switch to Proton Authenticator, but it's missing a few features.
One important feature would be the ability to change the view. For example, Aegis lets you switch from the normal view to a compact view. This allows you to see the first 10 entries on a single page. You can even make it smaller, so you can fit 16 entries on one page.
This makes it possible to have the most frequently used 2FA codes readily accessible without annoying scrolling.
