1. NO marketing popups in the Proton Pass extension

   While hitting backspace to clear the search field in the Proton Pass extension, a marketing popup for Proton Duo came up and DESELECTED the search field. Pressing backspace then navigated me back through several webpages, losing my form inputs. Let me be 100% crystal clear: The Proton Pass extension is a critical tool for performing time-sensitive security tasks. It is in no way acceptable to have marketing popups (on a service I already pay a significant amount of money for) interfering with these critical tasks. If you have a marketing offer, send it by email as you already do on a regular basis.

2. A better link between apps in the browser extension

   I wanted to open Proton Mail in my browser, and went looking for a shortcut through the Proton Pass extension. I had to make several clicks, searching every screen for a link to the other app. Eventually I found it in the triple line menu > Settings > Little 4 squares icon for Proton apps > Mail.

   I don't want to create a separate shortcut for mail and every app I decide to use (especially as my frequency of using them can be pretty low). I really just expected to find an easy path through the proton extension that's always there in my browser. It a way, that extension to me is all of Proton, not just the Pass app.

   Please make this link to your paid Proton apps more prominent through extensions like these, whatever app it is. And where possible, make it clear which we have access to and those that we don't. I'd rather those that I don't have available in my plan to be hidden or expandable/contractable.

3. Authenticator: Click to show code. Hide all by default.

   Currently, android Proton Authencator can work in one of two modes:
   1. Hide all codes and never display the code in the UI (even when clicked).
   2. Show all codes at all times.

   But this is not enough.

   If you hide all your codes, you can only copy the code to the clipboard and use it on your phone/device. If you show all codes, you expose yourself to over-the-shoulder snooping.

   A very common use case is that someone wants to keep all codes hidden by default but reveal a particular code when it's time to use it, when the user clicks on a particular code. This is how most competing OTP authenticators work, because it's simply a best security practice which allows the user to use the Authenticator with other devices (desktops, tablets, etc.).

   Change suggestion:
   1. Make all codes hidden by default.
   2. When a user clicks on a particular code, reveal that code only.

5. Folders and nested subfolders

   I want to be able to use folders and sub-folders. I use strongbox on iOS which is based on keepass. It allows for as many folders and sub-folders that you want. I use folders to keep my stuff organized. I don't like having all my passwords and whatever in one big long list. I also using keepass as a bookmark manager. I really like the idea of your "vaults", but again I have over like 3000 bookmarks and folders are really needed. Also attachments with built in viewer is also important. I like to convert a lot of websites to PDF and store them as attachments, so I can view them later. Keepass is the only one that can view said items, everyone else you have to download said item to view the attachment.

6. Allow free users to view all fields in vaults shared by paid subscribers

   As a paid Proton Unlimited subscriber, I can create and share vaults - that's part of what I'm paying for. However, when I share a vault with a free user, they cannot see:

   • Custom fields on shared items
   • MFA / 2FA information on shared items

   This creates a real usability problem when I need to share complete login credentials with someone (a family member, a colleague, a client).

   The core issue: The restriction is applied based on the recipient's account tier, not based on what the paid user is sharing. I've already paid for the vault creation and sharing feature. The free user isn't creating anything - they're reading data I've explicitly chosen to share with them. Limiting their view feels like a cap on my paid feature, not theirs.

   Proposed behavior: When a paid subscriber shares a vault item with a free user, the free user should be able to view all fields on that item - including custom fields and MFA/2FA data - within the context of that shared vault. Their free tier limits should still apply to vaults and items they own or create, not to content shared with them by a paying user.

   Use case: Sharing complete login credentials (including TOTP secrets or custom notes) with a family member or teammate who has a free account, without requiring them to upgrade.

7. Option to Limit Autofill to Host Versus TLD

   Currently, the Proton Pass extension brings up suggestions for anything at the top-level domain. (toplevel.com) There are situations where there are subdomains that have differing passwords. (subdomain.toplevel.com) It would be helpful to have an option in the browser extension that limits the suggested password to down to the subdomain (host) level.

9. Make Proton Authenticator for MacOS downloadable outside of the Apple App Store

   Please make the MacOS version of Proton Authenticator avaialable via DMG download.

   Currently, Proton Authenticator on MacOS is only available via the App Store, which requires signing in using an Apple Account. This shouldn't be necessary and seems like a huge miss for a privacy-focused product. I don't sign into my Mac with my Apple Account, and I'm sure many other privacy-focused individuals do the same. This makes Proton Authenticator entirely inaccessible for such users.
   I'd like to be able to install Proton Authenticator without using the App Store. Note that all other Proton apps for MacOS are available via a DMG download - it looks like Proton Authenticator is the only one that fully relies on the Apple App Store for distribution on MacOS.

11. Android's keyboard button feature change, pops up a pop-up window instead of open the app

    On android, the button at the keyboard just opens the app, but in some cases it just takes you out of what you were doing, right? For example, logging in a game, it takes you out of the game when you're trying to look for the account through the button, and when you come back you're already out! Examples: Minecraft, requires Microsoft account, obviously, proton Pass shows you your Microsoft accounts through the keyboard, but sometimes doesn't show them all, so through the button at the right you open proton Pass, the problem is that takes you out of the game, closing it, and when you finally find your account and come back, you have to start again.

    This would be different, if the button opens a pop-up, a small windows like the chrome's extension on PC. Using window's already there function, the pop-up windows.

13. [Desktop App] Lock on system shutdown

    I really find it difficult to remember to manually lock the desktop app before I shut down my computer, and I find the options given for auto-locking after a period of time to be rather annoying.

    Aside from that, there are definite security implications if someone gains access to your computer after you've forgotten to lock the app before you shut down. I realise the timer based auto-lock is one solution to this. As I mentioned though, it is rather annoying having to re enter my password every 1 hour at most.

    I'd really love to see a setting that automatically locks the app on system shutdown. I just migrated from KeePass and this functionality is sorely missed.

    Hey! It would be very nice if I could hide from autosuggestions specific vault. I a have a shared vault by my business account and when I am logged in with my private I don't need those suggestions. This vault is shared only because of security reasons.

15. Export passwords by vault

    Add the ability for a user to export passwords via selecting multiple options, and allowing export of entire vaults. (I.E. Folders / Categories).

    This will make it easier to export only sub parts when you do not want to export the entire password database.

    The "Use my email" autofill suggestion is hardcoded to the Proton account login email and cannot be changed. Users should be able to designate any email address — including one stored in a ProtonPass Identity — as the default autofill suggestion. This is a blocker for users whose primary email differs from their Proton account email (e.g., after rebranding or when using a custom domain professionally).

18. Auto-lock options for the Authenticator

    It would be great to have auto-lock options for the app:
    • lock after X minutes of inactivity in the app,
    • lock after X minutes of system inactivity,
    • and an option to lock (or not) when the OS gets locked.

    This would let users control whether the app should stay unlocked after the system is unlocked, or require the password again. This adds flexibility and better security.

20. Add WebDAV for optional self-hosted sync

    Please consider adding an option to disable Proton Cloud and sync via WebDAV instead. This would allow users to store their password data on their own servers (like Nextcloud) for complete control. It's a valuable privacy feature for those who prefer not to rely on cloud services while still enjoying multi-device access.
