  1. More supported web icons/ gradient background

There’s a new password manager called 2FAS and they do a really nice job at having additional icons for more sites and also having a gradient behind the icon that matches instead of doing all white

  2. autovalidate after autofill

1Password does something that I miss a lot when autofilling login and 2FA forms: it automatically validate, saving us some more seconds. I does not looks like a lot but the fluidity of login process is really improved

  3. Add letter headings to alphabetical sorting in Proton Pass desktop app. This is already available in the mobile version.

Add letter headings to alphabetical sorting in Proton Pass desktop app; it's super cluttered without them. This is already available in the mobile version.

  4. Allow customization of search result display. Example: [title] ([vault_name])

Current search results shows on each line:

    [categoryicon] [vaulticon] [title]

It would be lovely if there were a feature that would allow users to customize the search result display using a simple bracket syntax using pre-defined allowable variables. For example, I would like my search results to display as:

    [vaultname]: [categoryicon] [title]
    or:
    [categoryicon] [title][NEWLINE][vaulticon] [vaultname] ([lastedited])
    or:
[categoryicon] [title,50] ([vaultname])... where ",50" indicates truncate to 50 characters.

I could explain my use case... but invariably users will want customization options. Using bracket syntax, or a drag and drop interface to select available variables, would add a lot of flexibility…

  5. I want a feature to categorize saved items...

Others have already requested this, but it could be “Categories,” “Folders,” or “Tags.”
It doesn't have to be manual categorization—automatic sorting would be fine too.
I just want to categorize and organize them.

I know Vaults can be used for classification.
But Vaults aren't fundamentally designed to function like folders or categories.
And if you can only use 20 of them, Vaults are insufficient as a replacement for folders or categories.

When you have thousands of items, it's crucial to understand what services you're storing items on and how many you have.
If it's just login information fills, classification isn't…

  6. Windows app not compatible with strict WDAC policies due to unsigned tmp.node files

Proton pass desktop app for Windows cannot be used in enterprise managed devices with Windows Defender Application Control set to block unsigned files. This is because the app creates temporary, unsigned, .tmp.node files in %appdata%/Local/Temp which are blocked by WDAG, making the app crash. Apparently, Brave browser also had this issue, see https://github.com/brave/browser-laptop/issues/12534 .
The idea is to make the app compatible in this scenario, by either signing these files or not generating them at all.

  11. Price, configuration, data inclusion, and half the upgrades should be added to proton

Description: Proton Pass and Proton Authenticator are excellent tools for privacy-conscious users, but the free versions could be even more powerful with a few key improvements. These enhancements would strengthen security, reduce manual work, and improve usability while staying true to Proton’s mission of protecting user privacy.

    Proposed Improvements:

    Free Proton Pass
Add support for unlocking with a PIN or hardware security key for faster, secure access.
Allow reordering of custom fields and better vault organization.
Expand alias integration with SimpleLogin, so disposable emails can be managed directly inside Proton Pass.
Ensure automatic synchronization between web and mobile apps.
    Introduce…

  12. Profiles with different pins

    Profiles with different pins

I use proton pass for both work and personal life. However, whoever has access to my work laptop, will have access to my personal accounts. Adding a PIN partially solves this issue. But I would like to have a better separation. I want to be able to create multiple profiles, and, when installing the extension, to be able to chose between the profiles. You should be able to set separate PINs for each profile.

  13. Enable all predefined field types in "other" > "start from scratch"-entries

The "Other" > "Start from scratch" entry type is super useful, but it could be a lot more user friendly if more or preferebly all predefined field types and the respective functionality that comes with them were availabe.

At the moment, only Text, TOTP, Hidden and Date are selectable.

Being able to select the field Password, with the randomizer option as when creating a Login entry, would be a great improvement.

A use case is my non-proton email adresses; I like to have them all gathered in a pinned item called "Emails". I have created one "start from scratch"-entry where…

  14. Proton Pass: show vault in the "ALL" view

When using multple vaults it could be helpful to have a column with the vault name beside the item to avoid to click on every single element to know the associated vault.

  15. Username Generator

Some websites just don't need to know a name that can identify you across services. Being able to generate usernames for these cases is very useful.

Example: On Uservoice I just wanna upvote ideas that I like. The choice of username changes nothing. Therefore a randomized, meaningless name is preferable to stay anonymous.

That's why I used Bitwarden's username generator for this. Proton Pass should have one too

  16. Option to use PGP encryption on Note

Would be great to have an option to hide the plain note that we stored - like encrypt it via PGP directly in ProtonPass, or provide an option to hide it like a password with asterisk replacing the whole note

  18. Require Device Trust to Login

I would like a feature where when enabled it only allows trusted devices to log in. I want it such that any device not on the trust list cannot log into the pass account even with the password and extra password. Basically, lock it down to only approved devices entirely to prevent all unauthorized access from devices I don’t own. I would add a trusted friend’s (or multiple friends) device but without giving him the password as a recovery option for this setup so that if my house burns down or floods or what have you, there is a still…

  19. More options for "Auto-lock after" and allow "Auto-lock after LAST USED"

    1) More timing options:
Today the "Auto-lock after" has just a few options, I'd like to see a couple more other than
    - 1min
    - 2min
    - 5min
    - 10min
    - 1hr

Maybe add a couple more and allow a bigger upper limit:

    • 30 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes. I've seen some pass managers to allow up to 4 hours.

Or, just set an bigger upper limit and let the user give their own number between 1min and X hours (new upper limit)

    2) Add option to "Auto-lock after LAST USED"
    Example (using 1hr to Auto-lock):

    • Unlocked at 10am (set…

  20. Add ability to hide "add extension" bar at the top of the screen

Currently, when using Proton Pass on web without the extension installed, a small banner will persist across the top of the screen prompting the user to install the web extension. It would be a nice feature to be able to remove this banner via a small 'X' in the corner.
