How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Add Microsoft Authenticator to import passwords - can export csv from them right now

    You can export your passwords from Microsoft Authenticator no different than from Google Chrome password set, it's a .csv file and my passwords are currently split between both vaults and I expected Pass to solve that issue but for bizarre reason much lesser known & used password services are available to import from but not this.

  2. Add a "Type" field for credit cards

    Credit card details are missing a "Type" field so you can tell if it's a Visa, MasterCard, America Express or other..

  4. 2FA codes custom length / time to expire

    Some websites like Twitch or Termius use 2FA codes of 7 numbers and some other websites (I don't have any examples here sorry) have custom timeouts for 2FA codes (like 10 seconds instead of 30 seconds). I would like to get rid of Authy for my 2FA codes using proton pass but I tested a 2FA example from a GitHub tutoriel on how to export from Authy and proton pass doesn't actually handle other than 6 numbers codes expiring un 30 seconds. Could you do something for this please ? Thanks !

  5. Lock Vault on Screen Saver

    It is sometimes tricky to time the vault lock interval. In the morning, I go through a dozen logins and keep re-entering my passcode. The rest of the day, I hardly touch things.

    Given I am not worried about someone accessing my passwords when I am actually at my computer, the concern is when I am away. If the vault could lock when my computer screen saver comes on (or when my machine sleeps, etc.), that would be perfect. I could avoid having to rekey my passcode constantly, while the vault would be secure when I am away from the…

  6. Stay open in taskbar tray

    What's the point of having an application for Windows? What I would expect is obviously that it remains open in the taskbar tray (it MUST be open somehow), then the most important thing: it has to have a function, for example filling in logins and passwords in different applications (including in browser, without, in this case, needing a browser extension). I see absolutelly nothing with or without using it at all o.O

  7. Make Autofill on Android work for Username/Email field

    Currently in my Pixel 6 Pro (Android 13) in Brave Browser using Google Keyboard: Whenever I want to Login to a Website, the Autofill Option from Proton Pass does not show up on the Username/Email field, only on the Password field. So then I Autofill the Password and still have to type the Username/Email... Very inconvenient.

  8. Customize home screen

    As of now the default home screen is 'Most recent'. Even though there's an option to change this to 'Title (A-Z)' and other options, they cannot be kept as the default home screen. Once you close the app and reopen it, it changes back to 'Most recent'. This feature needs to be changed.

  9. Generate memorable password on sign-up forms

    As of now on sign-up forms strong password are suggested, but not memorable ones. For memorable passwords I must create a new login directly in pp. It would be nice if i can choose that pp suggest memorable password on sign-up forms instead of random passwords.

  10. Bitwarden Import - 1:1 json

    We are using at Home Bitwarden, and we also created Folders "Finance" (for example) and each of the folders has the relevant passwords for this folder. When exporting my Wallet from Bitwarden as Json and importing it to ProtonPass, it is all messed up and the Folders from Bitwarden (and the Structure) does not exist.
    For me, it's very important to have this structure saved. Thank you.

  11. Unlock Proton Pass with Push to Mobile App

    I see lots of requests to give more options for the auto-lock feature, but none specifically call out the Proton Pass mobile app to do this.

    When you get around to adding more options to unlock the extension, what would be most helpful for me would be to have the Android app available as an option to re-authenticate. It already supports the biometrics (fingerprint) that don't work with the extension and it's almost always a short reach away.   13. Make generated passwords/aliases editable

    Dev team, if you can please allow users to edit the generated passwords/aliases editable on the fly during generation? like when I want to change the 'l' to 'I' or when I want to remove some letters or add something that helps me remember it.

    Right now it's not editable. Only copy-paste.

  14. Prompt to link URL to existing password

    When logging in to a website for the first time the browser extension prompts to save the password, it would be nice to also have a button to link that URL to an existing password.

    In my case I've just imported from another password manager and most passwords aren't linked to a URL.

  16. Set alias display name

    We need to be able to set the Display Name for an alias (hide-my-email) in Proton Pass. Currently can only do this in SimpleLogin. Should be a natural part of creating or updating an alias in PP.

  17. Reorder vaults

    Aside for more vaults and subvaults we need a way to reorganize the order of the vaults. Rn the newest one created is at the top and the oldest at the botton. This is in the web app. I need a way to reorder them like tags in protonmail

  18. Add more fields to cards

    The card seems generic enough for most credit/debit cards, but needs custom fields, like the logins have.

    I need to add Name, Address, additional pin codes, sources, process numbers, unlock key, unlock digital address key, document number.

    So, by adding the "Add more" option like we have in logins will give this flexibility.

  19. Fingerprint Access

    In addition to a PIN, ProtonPass should allow unlocking of the password vault using the fingerprint reader that many laptos have.
