How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  2. Add changelog / release notes to web app

    Making changelog available in the navigator extension like in Firefox there is a “changelog” section, but it's always empty for Proton pass for each update.

  3. Always on top mode for desktop app

    In the desktop app implement ability to set "always stay on top" so that when filling data in a website the Proton Pass app stays on top allowing users to see notes/credit card details, instead of leaving the app to fill one field in the browser then go back to app to see another value, etc.

  4. Addy.io integration

    Basically the title. I love using Addy.io more than SL.
    Bitwarden already did the integration and it seems pretty straight forward (https://addy.io/blog/bitwarden-adds-anonaddy-integration/)

    Here I'll quote someone, which will help clarify how the integration worked between Addy.io and Bitwarden:
    "I recently spoke with AnonAddy developer Will Browning, and he said he would be very interested in an integration with 1Password.   5. Meta Quest support

    The Meta Quest runs on a customized Android 12 as of Feb 2024. It has support for 2D android apps in the system yet only one competing password manager is available thus far.

    I am able to sideload the protonpass apk and can say that all the features run well. Would like to see this officially available on that platform.

  6. Shortcut to open the password vault in a new window

    Could we have a shortcut way to open the Password Manager Vault in a new window.
    This is possible but cumbersome to open from the advanced menu.
    It's often needed to check the password entry on some sites.

  7. Only unlock only while security key plugged in (desktop/web)

    First of all it would be great to have the option to only unlock the vault with a security key e.g. YubiKey or the back-up code on the desktop/web app + browser extension.

    Additionally I would love it if it stays open as long the security key is plugged in to the device. It should only lock when the security key is been removed.

  8. Have cards you can limit and control and burn like privacy.com

    If possible the same features as privacy.com or make it compatible like 1password does so that I can use it on both my phone and PC

  9. Add ability to block/unblock masked emails

    Having the ability to block/unblock masked emails would be helpful to help keep our inbox clean. As an example, you can unblock the email when you are expecting a password reset code and block it to prevent seeing emailed store deals/discounts. This would essentially function like the masked email manager on fastmail.

  10. Drag and drop in desktop app

    It would be neat to drag and drop credentials from the desktop app similar to how you can in 1Password where it types the password in for you when you drag a credential over a field.

  11. delete login in browser as soon as an old login is suggested

    I use the ios app on macos 14.3.1 and it works so far on Safari. It would be nice to be able to correct wrong suggestions on the fly, when Proton Pass suggests an obviously wrong / outdated login. This would save a lot of time cleaning out old passwords.

  12. Vault Groups

    Idea:
    Add the ability to organize vaults into groups or collections as a means to organize the far left 'vaults' column. These could then be displayed as accordion style, collapsable headers. These groups would be user position-able (click and drag) with default position in order of creation.
    Implimentation (what I picture):
    In its simplest form, this could consist of four DB fields: Category/group name, Icon, and color, and associated vault ID's contained in the group. The '+' at the top of the vaults list would add a new intermediate dialog (instead of opening current vault creation dialog/view as it does…

  13. Clone / copy passwords

    I have several vaults I share with other people, including clients. For client vaults, I sometime give them the ability to edit the entries. I would like to also keep the same unadulterated records in my vaults. The ability to copy entries with a 'clone to vault' option added to the same dialog as 'move to vault' would be awesome. The ability to choose the same vault as the password currently resides may be useful to some as well. Thanks! Love the product as a business user; I am ditching Bitwarden after a decade or so.

  14. Import / export attachments

    Hello,
    Vault items with attachements such as unique codes or whatever information relevant to be stored on a file (PDFs, ...) , cannot be imported and have to be handled manually.

    Could you add this new feature : Securely export and import a vault with its attachments ?

  15. PIN re-prompt for certain logins or vaults (folders)

    Protecting the data with a PIN after inactivity is a wise choice, and I can only commend it. Other password managers allow to flag up some more sensitive logins for a PIN re-prompt to access them, I would also highly appreciate this being the case in Proton Pass. This could also be implemented at vault-level (say, I have one vault with all the login data for banking and things to do with money; I would flag up the entire vault for re-prompting for the PIN if I need data from it).

  16. Filter by password strength

    The ios App show the strength of your password. It would be nice to be able to filter for unsafe passwords so that I know which ones I need to change.

  17. Quick view / mini-app feature in MacOS

    I have just migrated from 1P******d to Proton Pass.

    I would like to have a "Quickview" or "mini-app" feature like in 1P on MacOS, which has a shortcut key associated with it, and through it you can get to your stored passwords quickly.

    Thanks for developing a great product set outside the US. ;)

  19. Related domains

    We should have a catalog of related domains that use the same login credentials, similar to what LastPass offers. This way, when I add a domain to ProtonPass, it will recognize related domains and suggest autofill options for those sites as well
