  1. Mail with alias

Signed up for website using alias. Website responded that I am a bot and that I should contact them in case I think the message is unjustified. In order to mail them I would need to use the alias I created to stay consistent and not reveal my actual address. To the best of my knowledge that is not possible today.

  2. Microsoft Autofill/Authenticator import

Current workaround is to export from Microsoft Autofill/Authenticator, import to Edge. Export from Edge then import to Proton Pass.

  3. Copy suggested password

When setting a new password for an account, Proton Pass suggests a new password, and usually it is a complex one. This is great, but I must be able to copy it in order to actually use this password. That is, at least when this password has not yet been actually used and stored in the Proton Pass secure vault.

Some account creation procedures enable users to "unmask" a password. In these cases usually an eye icon appears at the right side of the new password field. Clicking this icon unmasks the password and users can copy the password that…

  4. Add support for HTTP basic authentication

If a website requires Basic Authentication, the browser creates a login prompt and at the moment it's not possible to use the proton pass browser extension to fill the credentials, This is already supported by 1Password.

  5. More options to manage the vault

    • Possibility to merge 2 vaults

During passwords importation, I had multiple vaults created. I would like to merge them all.

    • Possibility to detect and to merge duplicates.

Sometimes changing the password creates a duplicate. Cool be useful to be able to detect and merge duplicates.

  6. Encrypt/Decrypt using Security Key (Yubikey) and Password/PIN

Can we please have an option to not have to use only a "Master Password" to encrypt/decrypt our Vaults and instead use a security key like Yubikey in combination with a Password or PIN?

To be clear, I'm not talking about the security key being used in static password mode which basically acts as a HID and can also be compromised using a keylogger, but a real FIDO2 or GPG challenge instead.

A real world example that is technically possible right now:
Your companies IT department for example can remote into your machine, log the password by installing a keylogger…

  7. PasswordSafe Import

I use PasswordSafe originally designed by renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier
You can export in txt or xml format
It would be good if there was some way to import either format into Proton Pass

  8. Have a docker for self hosted vault, like Vaultwarden.

So how Bitwarden has the VaultWarden docker that you can use, something similar that could run multiple ideas into one here,

The self hosted would be accessible offline or on the same network.
When a network is brought back online, everything syncs together.
Have Access control through this so you could have a shared vault

I feel more features could be easily added to this, but just to name a few.

  10. Vault Lock (Folder Lock) for extra security

    Enhanced Security:
Empower users with the ability to lock individual vaults for example Personal and Work Vault.

    Tailored Privacy:
Customize security measures for your most sensitive data.

I recommend introducing a new feature that allows users to lock individual vaults within the app. This feature would significantly enhance security and privacy, offering users a tailored and customizable way to safeguard their most sensitive data of their Personal or Work Vaults. For instance, consider being able to share your WorkVault password with a colleague to grant them access to specific information without compromising the privacy of your Personal Vault. It's a…

  11. KeePass Import (with direct/secure option).

Currently to import from KeePass it is necessary to export all the password database to a plain-text (non-encrypted) file before being able to import in ProtonPass.

I'd really be more comfortable if there was a way to directly import from a KeePass database, without "breaking" the security, not even temporarily.

KeePass is open-source and it should be possible to develop an importer directly (e.g. that requires you the password to unlock the database, and then does everything securely).

  12. Support other languages in memorable password generator

The memorable password generator is great but is difficult to memorize the passwords to non speaking English persons.
It will be great if it can use other languages

  13. Family plan

1Password (and others) have a family plan where I can manage access for my entire family. I can't see me moving to Proton Pass w/out something similar. I need the ability to have vaults for various individuals or groups of individuals (Child1, Child2, Parents, Everyone, Personal).

A Proton Family plan is overkill for my needs and is not an option.

  15. Select default vault for entry creation

When creating a new entry in Proton Pass, the default vault is always the same, likely the one with the oldest creation date.

There is no way to choose the default vault when creating manually an entry. In most of the cases it'll be the "Personal" vault, but when the users deleted this one for a reason or another (I did it because it was the only way I found to delete the dozens of passwords I imported mistakenly in it), the default vault is another one, and sometimes a shared one (this is my case).

    Beyond the inconvenience, this…

  16. Custom Sort order

I'd like to be able to have a custom order in which the credentials for the service/website I'm using are suggested. It's frustrating to always see throwaway accounts at the top. Maybe even let us choose a vault order?

  17. Fully offline mode with cloud synced option

I would like to see Proton Pass have an option for a fully offline password manager toggle. During the initial setup, it should allow you to pick between Proton Pass servers, or a way to make an end to end encrypted password that would be used to store a copy of the vault's data on iCloud, Google Drive, and Dropbox etc. Then an option to make the password manager fully offline. If a user made the password manager work with online servers, there should be an option in settings to opt into the fully offline password manager. If a user…

  18. Search passwords

Imagine that you have a compromised password and now you want to find all websites where you used that password. You can't. You'll have to manually check each saved account/pass combination. This feature exists in Firefox logins&passwords and it makes it really useful.

  19. Import to mobile app

I think there should be an option to import passwords from other passwords managers in the mobile application, instead of having to do so through a browser extension. This seems like a major missing feature to me.
