  1. Have a clear & accessible button OR keyboard shortcut to lock Proton Pass (desktop and browser extension)

It can be helpful to have a clearly-identifiable lock button for both the browser extensions and desktop apps. I use Firefox on my MacBook and I work at environments where I have to physically move away from my laptop ever so often, and have to move around a quite a lot. It'd be less fatiguing and (importantly) more secure if I could quickly lock my the desktop app and/or extension before moving away from my laptop. Just a little QoL feature that would be fantastic :-)

  2. Lock button in the extension

Please make manual locking (read: the moment when it is needed) possible also in the extension as in the webversion. In the extension, you have to click now several times before you can log out. I would appreciate it very much if there is a directly visible lock button (e.g. at the header of the extension, besides the donut).

  3. “Recovery Codes” Item Type

I’d like to suggest adding a new item type in Proton Pass specifically for storing recovery codes. Right now, the only way to save them is by using Notes or custom fields, which ends up creating long vertical lists and makes the layout messy.

A dedicated item would let the codes be displayed side-by-side in multiple columns, which fits them much better since they’re short and usually come in groups. This would make everything easier to read, quicker to access, and more organized overall.

Having a specific item for recovery codes would also help keep the vault cleaner and make…

  4. Passwatch Import Integration support

Please add support to import passwords from Passwatch.

The current CVS file from Passwatch when imported only creates blank passwords.

In addition, Please also make a auto duplicate password detection and merge feature.

When Kaspersky no longer became available in the US, users were switched over to Passwatch. I can only add in my old passwords from Kaspersky. Later on, when I import the new passwords from Passwatch, it will duplicate the same amount of passwords needlessly. Adding this merge feature will eliminate this problem.

  5. Expand the notes field in Proton Pass (MacOS)

In Edit mode, the notes field only displays 5 lines, which makes reading and scrolling through longer notes very difficult. I suggest to expand that field to at least 20 lines (or make it user-resizeable). In View mode, the notes field is more usable (with 12 lines displayed), but in view mode one cannot scroll. Consider letting the user scroll through the note in view mode. Of the two suggestion, the first is more important than the second.

  6. Custom Field autofill support

Currently autofill works for username/email and password only. Proton pass already supports custom fields. Give ability to autofill those custom fields.

Bitwarden supports this by correlating custome filed name to id, name, aria-label, or placeholder... of the html element. Their browser extension supports automatically copying name value from webpage.

Details mentioned Here custom field and ots autofill support for more advanced usage.

  7. Optical enhancement of Proton pass

I am currently switching from 1Password to Proton Pass and am not yet sure whether I will continue to use it in the long term. I find Proton Pass somewhat lacking in visual appeal.

    • Please ensure that website icons can be accessed much more efficiently (even KeePassXC does this better).
    • I would like to be able to customize and add icons/favicons myself as needed.
    • I would like to be able to add entries to individual sections, as with 1Password.
    • Entries should be movable up and down using drag and drop. Currently, the order is as they were created.

    A visual…

  8. Include Proton Authentication in IOS Auto-Fill List

As a user of Proton Authenticator, I would like to configure Proton Authenticator for auto-fill so I don't have to copy and paste.

  9. Richer “account details” fields (username, backup email, linked services, etc)

The core feature is nice, but somewhat limiting. it would be good to add optional, encrypted “extra‑details” fields to each entry (secondary/recovery email, extra passwords, numeric IDs, and linked‑service references) so we can store the full set of credentials a site may require without resorting to separate notes.

Numeric IDs are usually asked when I'm trying to get support for a game account, and the linked-service references is just a nice touch that I really hope to get implemented. For example, in Discord, you can link you Steam and Epic Games. It's be nice if we could have that as…

  11. Passkey Management Enhancement with search ability

When managing or confirming passkeys for a large number of accounts, there's currently no way to search or filter specific entries. This makes it difficult to navigate and manage accounts efficiently, especially for users with extensive credentials saved.

  12. Moving the SearchBar to the bottom of the Screen

Moving the SearchBar to the bottom of the screen on the mobile app just like Firefox, DuckDuckGo, etc. for easy one hand mobile use.

  13. Blank the window when not in focus

Add support for automatically blanking the window when Proton Pass desktop or mobile loses focus. Some apps, like the Signal mobile app, already do this. Adding the same feature to Proton Pass would help prevent accidental private data leaking when colleagues stop by or when sharing the screen. For a privacy-critical app, this should be the default, with an option to opt out.

  14. Credit Monitoring Feature for Proton Pass

With already strong online monitoring features, Proton Pass would benefit from assisting users with a safe and effective way to monitor their credit. Leading banks and companies, such as Experian and Chase, among others, often use user data in their credit strategies. With secure credit/debit card adding and autofill in Proton Pass, including credit monitoring for paid plans, which can add their cards, would be the next step to provide a secure feature, and reducing the potential surface area of data extraction by large and gluttonous companies.

  15. Suggestion to improve security of our passwords

Add a two step verification to unlock the extension. Because having a six digit PIN code to unlock every secure password i have is not a good idea. Add a two step verification or a tougher way to unlock the vault. Because if my PIN is compromised, so does my entire passwords.

  16. A method of independent recovery from other Proton apps

It would be very useful if you did something similar to the 1password recovery method, which in this case would be a PDF file with a large password that is difficult to memorize in your head, or even a QR code on the document for the person to print and get direct access to it! But it would only serve for Proton Pass to make it difficult for some malicious user to get access to the whole at first

  17. Im visually impaired & use large fonts. Proton cuts off info, esp. action buttons on pw generate by not scaling pop up boxes

Please make Proton scaleable (“dynamic Type”) for users using larger system font sizes. Right now so much information when using Proton is cut off on my screen. It is particularly difficult when the action button is missing at the bottom of the screen that pops up to generate a password. I cannot indicate to the program to use a particular password generated or to save and fill automatically for new sites or when updating existing passwords. This is the most frustrating instance that makes the Proton suite I subscribed to nearly useless to me due to visual challenges. Your boxes…

  18. Add Hide-My-email-Aliasses from custom domain automatically to the dark web monitoring

Currently all custom domain Hide-my-email-Aliasses have to be added separately to the dark web monitoring.
It would be nice to add them automatically to the dark web monitoring when creating a new custom domain alias.

  19. Show full secret name in some way

    Problem
If the name of a secret get's too long, it will be shortened within the Proton Pass browser popup by "...". If such a secret is selected, it get's even worse, as the secret name will displayed even shorter than on the list of secrets.

So if you have multiple similar secrets, you have no chance to differentiate them, as the difference within the name is not visible. Especially if there are only secrets without a username stored.

    (Unfortunately I can't add a screenshot here)

    Suggestion/Solution
Show the full secret name in some way like a tooltip or something…
