Password Safe import
I have used Password Safe since the Windows 95 days. Now I use it on my Mac, in the form of pwSafe. Any chance for the ability to import??

This password safe has been around for decades and has millions of downloads.

Matt, I think that works OK for relatively simple, non-structured collections. My passwords on PasswordSafe are organised into folders, sometimes 3 layers deep. In addition I have quite a lot of notes for some entries (not just username/password but also "security PIN", memorable words, name of my grandmother's pet tortoise, etc). I've explored the export to Excel route quite a bit but always lose some data.
My current best option is to keep running ProtonPass and PasswordSafe in parallel, and transferring the data as and when - or if! - I need it. Turns out there are plenty of entries that never get used, so after a while I'm going to prune it all back. When I have time.

I basically learned how to export into excel and import into the template for PPass. Don't need a specific import feature for PSafe...it was really easy.

Update: You can import your passwords (on MacOS anyway) by exporting to TXT format, renaming to CSV, opening it in Numbers/whatever, changing the "Group/Title" heading to just "Title", then exporting back to CSV and importing using the "generic" import.

Using it for last 50 bln years, and will continue until it breaks, but importing from it to Proton makes perfect sense.

Here's how to import data from Password Safe:
1. Export To -> Plain Text (Tab separated) -> Advanced field selection criteria
2. Selected Fields: Title, User Name, Password, URL
3. Open file with some text editor you can search and replace (eg NotePad++)
4. Replace all tabs with comma
5. Replace line:"Title,Username,Password,URL" with "name,username,password,url"
6. Import with ProtonPass as Chrome password file. -

Adding +1 to support import of Password Safe (Windows) / pwSafe (Mac/iOS) format. Have over 400 entries that I don't want to have to manually input.

I have 1231 items in Password Safe, accumulated over many years. I'd love to avoid having to move them across manually one at a time ....

Totally agree - have used PSafe for many years and an import feature would help.

I, too, have been using pwSafe for many years. The inability of other password applications to import this format has kept me from changing. pwSafe simply works and already has most of the features that people are asking for here. I currently have over 600 passwords, so auto import is critical.

Me too! You can export a .csv with the scheme "Title"; "Category"; and then whatever fields (also custom named ones) with Password fields named "Password", of which there can be multiple per "Title". Would have loved to upload a sample file but you can't.
