An addition to my initial comment way back in time: I have found that although the 'copy to clipboard' feature gives a mess when pasted into MS Word, when pasted into a LibreOffice Writer document it comes up mostly clean and well formatted. I still want a better export option though, because copy, paste, verify format, add my prompt ... that all takes time and distracts from workflow. So please, a more sophisticated export feature and .ODT format is a good choice.

Really important. I prefer peterw's suggestion (using markdown) to exporting like duck.ai, although both are better than nothing. I'd also like to be able to have a printed (eg to PDF) version. Some replies are going to be saved as documents. When I try "Print to PDF" (on Vivaldi 7.6, at least) all I get is a single empty page.

This is such a basic criterion. It needs fixing. Yes, we could use the web interface, but I think I'm right in saying that when logged in, the chats become available cross-platform?

@privacy101, yes you can add domains, but eg I have two email accounts with the same domain: abc@xyz.fr and uvw@xyz.fr I'm happy to have abc@xyz.fr credentials stored in ProtonPass but not those of uvw@xyz.fr, which I want to keep entirely manual. So adding xyz.fr to my pause list doesn't solve the problem. Of course, I can just ignore the demand from ProtonPass - which I do, but it's a bit irritating.

Brilliant, thank you Admin. Some things slip under the radar. :-)

There are some logins that I definitely do NOT want to store in ProtonPass. No disrespect intended. There are some passwords that I want to stay in muscle-memory, that I want to keep in my head only. And as Terry said, it's better to keep 2FA separate from passwords.

It must surely be a fairly trivial addition to the system?

Not sure if this is the same issue, but there's certainly an overlap. I just installed the Drive app. I keep my private documents in a Veracrypt drive, which I only mount when I need it. I figure that if my laptop gets stolen I've got an extra level of security against scoundrels getting my data. But the Drive app will not allow me to assign a folder on this drive as my sync folder - it says "Drive type not supported".

Please Proton - is it possible to support this type of Drive?

Matt, I think that works OK for relatively simple, non-structured collections. My passwords on PasswordSafe are organised into folders, sometimes 3 layers deep. In addition I have quite a lot of notes for some entries (not just username/password but also "security PIN", memorable words, name of my grandmother's pet tortoise, etc). I've explored the export to Excel route quite a bit but always lose some data.

My current best option is to keep running ProtonPass and PasswordSafe in parallel, and transferring the data as and when - or if! - I need it. Turns out there are plenty of entries that never get used, so after a while I'm going to prune it all back. When I have time.

As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap, this is being developed: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026

Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.

Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

Any progress on this? It really is a deal breaker for me.

Partially rolled out, as per: https://proton.me/support/pass-offline-access

As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap this will extend out to the Pass Extension: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026
