As a user, I’d love to see Proton Pass include categories for storing identification like passports, driver’s licenses, or SIN numbers. It would make organizing important documents so much easier. For example, when I needed quick access to my Emirates ID status, I used tools like https://smarttrekassist.ae/ which inspired me to think about how Proton Pass could streamline document management similarly.

I've leveraged 1Password a lot and have grown accustomed to the different categories for identification as well.
While the list below is coming from what 1Password currently offers, I understand Proton might want to implement in their own way. Just as long as it becomes available. Whether they are completely new options in the "New Item" list or if it's some sort of drowndown that automatically renders fields based on the selected type or something else.
Like others, here are some of the categories I'd like to see:
- API credential
- Bank Account
- Database
- Driver License
- Medical Record
- Passport
- Social Security NumberHaving the ability to change some of the default inputs when selecting the generic "Login" would be helpful too. Imagine trying to store the information for your wireless router in ProtonPass. You'd have to probably add some custom field names, sensor the sensitive information but then when you want to make use of it, you have to login to your Vault and manually copy the correct field so that a different field doesn't automatically get injected in the login prompt. Just one example.

Without this feature, I'm unable to convince my family to splurge on the Proton Family Plan. I also second attaching document copies/images along with the other identification data.

The ability to save copies of documents like driver licenses, ID cards, passports (with expiry dates reminders), TSA, Global Entry, insurance cards, frequent traveler numbers (like airline or car rental), etc. would be great. The ability to store pictures of these documents would also be great.
Btw, there are quite a few of these suggestions for document copies and attaching pictures of those documents. Is there any way to consolidate them into one big suggestion?

in addition to have those categories, they should also be respected when importing from other password managers, like 1password.

I use this a lot in 1Password to get notified when a passport or visa is getting close to expire etc
