I have come across another restriction, you cannot add Anniversaries, Bereavements, or anything other than a Single Birthday.
I have had to extend my script that takes data from Google Contacts - where you can have many 'events' , and with custom names - and had it create a TOTALLY SEPARATE Calendar entry for all these other types ( and calculate the "age" ).

Similarly, it creates a new Contact just to record things like Anniversaries - as Birthdays.. Hmmm :-(

Right now, there's no reason for me to totally transition to Proton Contacts or Calendar because the infrastructure of basic requirements simply doesn't exist.

I second the idea that other Anniversaries also appear, such as Weddings, Obituaries, etc, AND THEY SHOULD INCLUDE THE AGE
Currently, I download everything in my Google calendar, parse through it for ANY Anniversary, not just Birthdays, extract those into a Vcard file WITH the Age, delete my Proton Birthdays Calendar, upload a new Birthday Calendar.
I have to do this EVERY MONTH, what a time waster when it could be automatic if you OPT IN

Bomott's python script works for a vcf contact list exported from Google, the ICS imports to Proton Calendar successfully

I couldn't get PIPENV to work, so did

    pip install icalendar vobject

Then execute python convert.py --title "Birthday" input.vcf output.ics

Create new proton calendar Birthdays, and import the ics file into it

Next year delete calendar Birthdays and run script again to generate new 'ages'

    :-) Thanks Bomott!

The calendar widget is very limited in it's scroll amount, for example, today is 24 May, it will only scroll as far as the 7th of the next month ( which it doesn't identify by name ), and it won't scroll back to a previous date, such as yesterday so I can check if everything is completed.

I would really like an Agenda view that can scroll forward continuously, if I want to see further ahead I now have to open the calendar , it is far more productive for me to simply scroll an Agenda forwards as far as I need to, as I do on my current Calendar widget.

I need to be able to forward an event via the Android Share function, the recipient has various message apps but no email.

If scam ICS is sent out and you want to add it to your calendar and optionally automatically tell the scammer your email address is valid so that you get even more spam ??
Please rethink this idea so that it only applies to people in your contact list and all others go to spam.

make sure the mobile app supports them too, no value in just having it web based, also consider the Bridge clients, my tasks are in Thunderbird, so I have a separate email provider JUST FOR TASKS !
