An error occurred while saving the comment I agree. I really miss this feature. Just having "dumb" filtering on sender and subject is not producing the desired result. Examples:
Invoices sent with subject "Invoice from *name of club* " will be grouped as a single thread, making it very difficult to find the latest invoice (especially when combined with a search function that does separate trashed messages in the result (https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/39908797-filter-out-exclude-trashed-emails-from-searches))
My kids teacher sends out weekly reports on what's the class has been up to. The subject is (translated) "Weekly letter #24". The current filter will group the new message with the one, completely unrelated, sent one year ago.

An error occurred while saving the comment Gmail has a really nice way of doing this were the interface notifies of hits in trashed messages and offers a link to display them. Hope to see something similar in Protonmail soon.
Still no traction on this? I don't understand why they use both folders and labels. Apart from being far superior in function, labels can be used as a full replacement to folders with no drawbacks at all. The only benefit folders offer is that it can have sub-folders, but that is only because Protonmail hasn't implemented nested labels.
This is the singe reason why I keep my Google business account. I have been waiting several years for this to be implemented. Please remove the folders and go all in on labels.
