The emails just mention that there's an event coming up and the body of the email has a link to the event. Reminders like these are useless.
I know that proton is all about secrecy and privacy, but for those of us who aren't spies or political dissidents it would be great to at least have the option of having actually useful information included in the emails.

More than the apps, to have the data not just deleted but immediately overwritten.

Agreed. An email with just a link only tells me that there's an upcoming event. Would be nice to have all the details at a glance, without having to open yet another app on the phone or click further on the computer in order to find what the event actually is.
Thanks!

Yes. This would make it possible to access my Proton calendar from android's native calendar app (as well as others).
The existing calendar sharing option in Proton ought to be renamed to "export," since that's what it really does - export an ics file, which is pretty much useless as a sharing tool.
This suggestion, which, to anyone who uses a calendar, is an obviously needed feature in calendaring app, is not only incompatible but contrary to Proton's philosophy.
My guess is that not enough thought went into the implementation - Proton is a company built ("bent on" is a more appropriate term, actually) around privacy and encryption, since this feature would make the calendar insecure by Proton's standards.
I'm no expert in encryption, but I believe that the problem is that it's possibly very complicated, if not impossible, to search encrypted data without compromising Proton's promise of zero-access.
This short discussion illustrates my point quite succinctly: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22286574/full-text-search-on-encrypted-data
In other words, I don't think this will ever be implemented, given how Proton has proved (so far) to be eager not to compromise in terms of security.
Given the above, as much as I'd like to see this feature implemented, I decided to withdraw my vote and save it for something more plausible.
