I actually 100% agree with this. I pay for the tier that lets me use SimpleLogin, and I use that a *lot.*
But the thing is, I've found that a LOT of websites prevent you from using aliased emails. Having the option to alias with proton-native email extensions would get around those filters and let me properly obscure my address from as many places as possible.

If this was implemented it would be the last thing keeping me from exclusively using Proton Calendar. I already use Protonmail for 99% of my email and contact management, this would be the icing on the cake.

Yeah this is pretty critical, especially as Proton is clearly trying to make an ecosystem that competes with google. A Contacts app that integrates with Email and with Calendar (for showing birthdays) would be the biggest missing link right now that would make it possibly to fully move off of google and onto proton.
