As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap, this is being developed: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026
Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.
Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

"attachments with built in viewer" Proton will never add it in your lifetime...
A password manager is not for that kind of use... Get Anytype for that instead.
This is not a bookmark nor a pdf manager, you use the wrong tool. But simple attachments and sub-folders, yes, really needed, I think they must be added in 2047, maybe later... Because it's the Sloweeessstttt company ever...

I have the exact same wish, but unfortunately, I really think we may never see it on Proton Pass...
I don't know why so many people don't get how to add fully featured Tags into their SAAS, but that should be the reason why users don't get what they could be useful for.Do yourself a favor, even if it's not open source, get 1Password, that's the better alternative for a fully featured password manager, including tags.

Partially rolled out, as per: https://proton.me/support/pass-offline-access
As per the Spring/Summer Roadmap this will extend out to the Pass Extension: https://proton.me/blog/pass-roadmap-spring-summer-2026

Bitwarden does it the perfect way as a company, TOTP access for all with a dedicated app, but autofill TOTP for paid users only. So everybody is protected but people can pay for convenience.
