Please... unlimited user here. I would use proton drive if they had this. I'm stuck using mega because they actually have a drive sync app.

Not sure how many comments I've added to this thread but this is one of the most-requested features on this site and Proton still isn't even "thinking" about it. You have so many Unlimited and paying customers who are asking for this feature but they're currently being ignored.
I use/used MEGA.nz as a step-in since they also offer E2E encryption AND have the MEGASync app which works on all major distros. They even have add-ins for various file managers to display the sync status of individual files and directories. If anything, Proton should look into acquiring MEGA and using their technology that has already been built. Either that or collaborate on the portions of their solution that are relevant and open source.
I started to use rclone bisync with Proton Drive and it seems to be working, but it does take a while and you need to be comfortable with rclone and cron if you want it to sync or work regularly. There are options.. but how much longer do privacy-respecting customers who run linux have to wait for something that's a very standard and base feature of having a cloud drive service.
