I receive all kinds of Email, for example...
• General subscription stuff from say Which magazine, ASUS computer stuff etc.
• General info from say Neighbourhood Watch
• Personal Emails
• Notification of purchases and info on the progress to me
I like to have all Email quickly set as read (in a single Inbox so that see there is Mail means its new so read it) but that means remembering which I need to look at again once they are read as opening them sets them as read, i.e. my criteria for a clean inbox. I don’t want to manually file things as then its down the page off-screen etc.
What would be good rather than opening a new tab for a new instance of Proton mail would be to have several inboxes {all visible} (NOT folders that mail is filtered into when it arrives) but within the same instance and visible all the time and be able to automatically filter mail into these inboxes as it arrives.
I could then ensure that personal was always answered, but have subscriptions, information etc. with stuff set as unread (or not) so look at separately
(PS This box for typing in is a real PITA as it can't be stretched to see all my typing)
So multiple Inboxes all visible and mail filtered into them as it arrives.

Work on this feature request is underway, starting with iOS.
🗓️ A new calendar invite widget shows the main event info in all emails that contain event invites. Tapping on it takes you to the #ProtonCalendar app directly from your inbox.

Long ago and far away I worked for a company making high tech equipment for the oil industry, they had their own operating company who supplied a service to oil companies using the said equipment. They didn't concentrate much on this service, didn't make money and the whole business went bust.
The lesson learnt? You need your bread and butter money coming in, from basic services, then you can fund your grander ideas.
Proton please take note. Lots of people like me PAY for an Email system which we could otherwise get for free (ok with little privacy and all our secrets sent in mail available to the provider)
Spend less time on creating a front end for services already available on the web like WHOIS and MORE TIME providing a calendar service that actually tells you what event you are being reminded of.
Of the twelve or so unread Emails I have six or seven are calendar events I have to keep opening to remind myself of what commitments I have over the next few weeks.
Difficult?

One can only hope in the next millennium will be able to see the title of the calendar entry on the web version on a PC too

If I bought a box of matches and they didn't strike and make a light I would be upset and want my money back.
If I bought a car and the wheels didn't turn or the engine didn't start I would send it back to the garage and sit whilst they fixed it.
If I bought a saucepan and weeks later during normal use a hole appeared in the bottom pouring my soup onto the stove I would ask the maker to pay for my dinner (and fix the hole or give me a new pan.)
If I made an entry in a calendar and setup a few reminders I would expect the Email reminder to REMIND ME OF THE UPCOMMING EVENT ! Not ask me to go round to my neighbour and ask them if they knew what the reminder was all about.
And, during setting up a reminder it would be really really handy to have a template (or two) so that instead of tediously working through each entry with the pattern of times I wanted a reminder I could just click on pattern No3

It is tedious to have to close a single open Email to view another. Yes you can have multiple "separate" tabs open but what would be far better would be a similar system to Thunderbird where there are multiple tabs within the one program. I agree this isn't in a browser in Thunderbird but just used as an illustration of what would be excellent.
This seems like yet another feature (NOT) with Protonmail. There is far too much emphasis on wonderful new technical features behind the scenes, with far too little work done on the interface e.g. as well as the lack of the actual subject of a calendar entry in the notification Email, we have this lack of multiple inboxes. Day to day, in fact minute to minute it is the Email client that people work with, it is about time that Proton did some work on this, as like others I too will give up my paid subscription before too long.
