I would love to see Proton Mail implement an AI-powered translation feature similar to Telegram's excellent automatic translation system.
Telegram has one of the best translation experiences available today. Once enabled in the settings, messages written in foreign languages can be translated effortlessly, making international communication seamless.
I believe Proton Mail could implement a similar feature while staying true to Proton's privacy-first philosophy.
My ideal implementation would include:
• Automatic language detection.
• A setting in Proton Mail where users can enable or disable automatic translation.
• The ability to choose which languages should be translated automatically and which languages should always remain untranslated.
• AI-powered, context-aware translations instead of simple word-for-word translation.
• Incoming emails automatically translated into the user's preferred language without requiring manual action.
• A "Show Original" button to instantly switch back to the original email.
• Optional side-by-side view showing both the original email and the translated version.
• Translation of outgoing emails before sending.
• Privacy-preserving implementation using Proton's own AI infrastructure or on-device processing whenever possible. For example, I could choose Finnish as my preferred language and configure Proton Mail to automatically translate emails written in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, and other languages into Finnish as soon as I open them.
This would dramatically improve the user experience for people who communicate internationally while fully respecting Proton's commitment to privacy and security.
I believe this would become one of Proton Mail's most valuable AI-powered features and would clearly distinguish Proton Mail from other secure email providers.
Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Dear ProtonMail Team
I am a loyal user of ProtonPass, and I would like to suggest a feature that could greatly enhance the password management experience. Currently, I have 313 weak passwords stored in ProtonPass, and I would love to see an option that allows users to automatically update all weak passwords at once, without having to manually go through each one individually.
This feature would save time and help ensure better security for users who need to strengthen their password management, especially when handling multiple weak passwords.
Thank you for considering this feature, and I look forward to any updates!
Best regards
Matias

I strongly support this feature.
I have also submitted a related feature request called "Telegram-style AI Auto-Translate for Proton Mail", which expands this idea by proposing optional automatic AI-powered translation similar to Telegram's translation system.
I believe combining AI-powered, context-aware translations with automatic language detection and user-selectable languages would provide an outstanding user experience while remaining consistent with Proton's privacy-first philosophy.
